Looks like something is still very wrong in Dundas...on paper, a very capable playoff threat, but in the standings, 11 pts out of a playoff spot and haven't won since some of the big names arrived. what is the problem in valley town? the clock is ticking.... Jim this may be a good time to invest the family fortune on Dundas as the odds of us failing have never been greater that we are a bad bet it seems. Just kidding things aren't perfect but never concede we are done in January. We will be good enough to compete come playoffs I hope. Don Robertson

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm under the impression Jim that 4th and 5th place BOTH make the playoffs. Albeit, it is then a one game "wild card" game between those two teams, but still playoffs. So it doesn't matter if you finish 4th or 5th. Will determine home ice for the one game playoff. Again unless I am missing something, that was the last I had heard.

Also should have added that an 11 pt lead this season isn't as daunting. Wins in regulation are worth 3 points this year.

Unless there has been changes or amendments to the original release put out by the league in June 2015, then I would suggest that 4 teams will make the playoffs. The team that will be declared as the 4th place play-off team will be the team that prevails through 2 separate qualifying series to take place at the conclusion of the regular schedule. The only thing that I know of that has changed since the original June 2015 announcement, is that the 7th place team that was to automatically be eliminated from any chance of play-off participation, has since become irrelevant, when the league was reduced to 6 teams with the withdrawal of Norwood.
Quoting from the original announcement (as it was posted by another member on this forum) addressing several subjects for the 2015-16 season, the following paragraph addressed play-off qualifying.
"Restructuring playoff qualifications, following regular season play, the league voted to eliminate the seventh place team from the playoffs. Teams five and six will play a one game sudden victory game to earn the right to play a best two of three series against the regular season, fourth place team. The winner of that series will then be classified as the fourth seed in the ACH semifinal."

Found the release under the thread entitled "ACH". Doug posted that the playoff format remained unchanged after Norwood left the ACH. 5 will play 6 in a one game wild card. The winner will play 4th place in a best of 3.
So to answer Jim's first question...the McCoys are already in the playoffs.
Not to be a homer, but with Mole in net, and if a full compliment of defensemen actually play a game together (hasn't happened one game this year!!), then no reason to think Dundas can't repeat as Champions.
The real season is the playoffs boys

Just to acknowledge and give full credit, I was referring to and quoting from the original full league announcement as first posted by 'cowbellgal' on June 4, 2015 in her thread "RULE CHANGES FOR ACH LEAGUE FOR 2015-16" SEASON"

wow...that is really pathetic...so the entire regular MLH season is entirely pointless...a team like Hamilton can do the bare minimum of absolutely nothing, which they appear to have done and still get in.
This is exactly like allowing Kenora and SEPT etc a three-game series for a shot at the Allan Cup...it has rendered the S Ontario Sr loop season entirely meaningless.
That is quite a capitulation on the part of the league, to accommodate the expansion operators.
participation ribbons for everyone.

soooo...can someone also explain the points system for wins and losses...
is it 3 for a W, 2 for an OTW and 1 for a OTL???
might want to have the guys on point streak break out the categories a little better...the math looks fuzzy the way they currently show it.

As good as mole is, can someone explain to me how Dundas keeps playing him vs stoney creek? They have put 40 pucks past him in 4 games. 40. The poor back up stops 50 shots in a great effort beating stoney last night and they don't play him again. If these two teams meet in playoffs I believe you have to go with the back up.

I said before the season that Stoney Creek will be/is a powerhouse if they get a commited lineup which they have. They have tons of depth up front and have a full quality lineup no matter who is/isn't there. Top team in Ontario thus far but not sure that their D and goaltending will stack up vs other top teams but offensively they're as good as I've saw since 2006 when I started following senior hockey.

Not to mention Stoney Creek has at least 3 former Brantford Blast players one of whom leads the league in scoring.
