Any news on new players signing with teams?
I'm interested to see who the Lloydminster Border Kings pick up as they are the host team.
The kings may have a hard time getting through Rosetown if they are putting the same product on the ice this year.

The Kings dont have to worry about Rosetown too much. LBK is already garunteed a spot in the tournament.
With that said...I expect LBK will improve dramtaically this year.
I don't know if they will get Shawn Germain back this year...but...I think last years Kings roster was the softest we've seen since they joined the CHL and it likely had a lot to do with them wanting to put themselves in a position to load up as the host team this time around.

Germain would be a big help on the back end for the Kings. I heard a rumor over the summer Dallas Fallscheer, Travis Clayton, and Justin Rohr could all be playing with the Kings this year. Can anyone confirm this?

Can anyone confirm this? Steven DaSilva, Zach Sim, Josh Sim, Aaron Phillips, Aaron Starr and Derek Allan are all affiliated with Lloyd and play on senior teams in Saskatchewan. Fallscheer, Clayton, and Rohr are all there. Jody Lehman is still between the pipes. Rosetown and Balgonie are new to AAA but this is what i've tracked down so far; Rosetown has Carter Smith, Dean Beuker, Brent Twordik, Evan Schwabe, JJ Hunter, Jarod Jagow, Casey Lee, Luke Fritshaw, Craig Olynick, Lane Manson, Hugh Hamilton, Rory McMahon, Kirk Pierce and then Jeff Harvey and Kelly Guard in goal. From what i hear, Balgonie has Ryan Lang, Brad Herauf, Mike Wirll, Jason Weitzel, Chad Richardson, Bear Trapp, Chris Hahn, Grant Selinger, Lance Herauf, Jamie Heward, Cory Unser, Kerry Ellis-Toddington, Kyle Deck, Neil Petruic, Josh Garbutt and maybe Mike Sillinger. Rob McVicor and Justin Mrazak are their goalies.

Grandfalls will bring a very strong team from the Atlantic region. Even without an affiliate they are as strong or stronger than last years winner.

Alson Heard Shawn Germain, Devin Featherstone and Chad Starling are in Rosetown. As well Denny Johnston and the Williams brothers. Dont believe Olynick, Manson, Fritshaw or Hamilton are going to be there.

Wow Rosetown might have a pretty good team. Might as well put Kris Weibe and Lance Ward in the Kings lineup with the name's Rosetown is putting out there haha. I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm hearing Germain will be in Rosetown instead of LBK this season.

Heard some pretty credible talk that Horse Lake is again spreading around the "Love" to players and rumour has it that Theo Fleury could be headed there again. If he is, it isn't for free, last time I heard anything, his agent was asking some pretty stiff cash per game. Probably worth it for the gate he would draw but certainly not fair to the game of AAA Amateur Mens Hockey or the teams who work hard at being full time AAA teams in the Chinook League. There will probably be no confirmation until Feb 10, when Horse Lake will have to finally card players in time for Provincial Playoffs. Maybe it's just a rumour or maybe Horse Lake is at it "again".

hockeypops I doubt Theo will be back with Horse Lake. First off the guy is 43 years old, and it finally looks like his life back on track. The game has passed Theo bye, many teams have better players on there roster than Theo.

I asked Fleury, through his twitter account, if he was going to Horse Lake this year & he didn't respond. Which is strange because...he's kinda like Santa Claus...dilgently responding to every single fan/enemy/comment. I am almost certain Horse Lake would make him an offer of some sort. And although his winter schedule is probably full...I expect we will see him play some games with the HL Chiefs. He's not going to be a dominant SR player. He never was, to be honest. He is older now...but...43 is only entering into the "Upper Limit Range" of Allan Cup participants. Ive seen guys closer to 50 still kicking it with the kids and its always compelling if/when that happens. Never more so than if Fleurys' name is on a sweater. I know Horse Lake will play hard ball and they will bend the rules, cut deals, swindle and style their way through the season. And I COULD raise holy hell over it. And they'll probably end up doing something horrific and beyond tolerable, eventually. But they WILL also put asses into empty seats. And now back on topic..... Keep an eye out for Tim "Toolman" Green. He played on & off in the Battle River League last year and is currently coveted by a couple different Alberta SR teams. And lets just say the chase to get this former ECHL star signed is probably a "one HORSE race"
