Stonyburgh appears to have about a half dozen former Generals in the mix. And some of them will be counted on to do some very heavy lifting in these 2018 Alberta Finals.
Colten Hayes, newly signed, Ian Schultz along with Todd Fiddler might be the top 3 players on a roster heavily bogged down with guys like Chad Hohman and his ilk.

He's an interesting name who was a very good SR AAA player a few years ago. Hard to say what he can do this spring, given the limited amount he's played since 2014.

Stonyburgh marshalled 5 former Generals along the blueline for the anthem last nite: Jason Lundmark, Colten Hayes, Todd Fiddler, Scott Aucoin & Ian Schultz as an "opening line"...not gonna lie...it was a subtle but clever gesture. Haha.
The Army almost shoved it down their throats...piling up 21 SOG in 20 mins...but Davis Jones was remarkable & the game stayed scoreless into intermission.
The way the Eagles dug in & clung on last nite...has me thinking that maybe they can make this a long series? Stonyburgh opened the scoring in the 2nd and were able to stay about one horse length off the pace all night long...just enough to keep the game going at about as fast a pace of any Provincial Finals game I've ever seen in Alberta.
The Army has speed. And yes, AFAN, they have Sheen AP'ed.
He fought Riley Miller with 12:00 to go. About a 25-30 second, beautifully executed celebration of Haymakers. My Gawd. They stood chest to chest for a couple long blinks and then the gloves dropped and the Coal started to roll. Sheen had Miller bent forward for a brief but wicked moment where some uppercuts Got mixed in and although Stonyburgh tied the game 2-2 a few mins after the fight..they were not "energized" by the fight the way their Twitter bird tried to meekly suggest.
No. Everyone in the building was energized long before that scrap. It was actually more of a purge than anything.
But true relief came only in the last couple mins when Nowakowski scored the 4-2 goal, placing a lock on Keenan Desmets' go-ahead goal about 7 mins earlier.
The Gens played with 5 D-Men all nite: It'll be important to see how this affects G2 up in Stonyburgh tonite.

I'll ask around...I know both teams are NOW doing extensive video of each game in this series...but...whether or not it will be for public consumption is the question.

The Army got tangled up in a calamity In Stonyburgh. The 3 time Allan Cup Champs looked very good for about 57 mins of Game 2.
As per usual...March hockey around here is an Axe Fight.
I think we've seen this script before...so...I don't know if there is a point in ranting about BAD REFFING...I admit...some confusion & frustration was prevalent for both teams.
But to me..Stonyburgh has very little to lose here. They're a mangy, starving under dog and desperate to bite into any piece of flesh they can grab. It's dangerous on many levels.
The series is tied 1-1. The Gens' spent the last 2-ish mins of regulation time shorthanded and maybe the single most pressing area they'll need to clean up is defensive zone clearing plays...especially on the PK.
IMO...when your on the PK and you have a chance to knock the puck out of the zone...there should be no need to consult the Caddy. The club you want...is Driver.
