Well too all the people on here who said that the Generals has a slim chance and don’t bring there full roster. Well I’m guess your all eating those words as they handled South East pretty good tonight. Tomorrow you can all see how well they are live on TSN.

Like I said last week...they’re experienced now...they’re not about to be embarrassed for a 3rd tournament in a row.

I agree to a point Wade about experience. Yes they are benefitting from two previous Allan Cup appearances.
But there is no team in modern Ontario history that has more experience than Dundas in going to the Allan Cup. We were in 6 out of 8 Cups from 2008 thru 2015.
But for most years even with many players participating in their 3rd or 4th Cup, the biggest difference was, year after year Dundas would show up with very short benches. It would drive all of us fans nuts; it would drive all the hard working McCoys executives nuts and make Don Robertson crazy.
I have posted so many times, literally during every Cup that if Ontario could send the same teams that they have during the season, they'd compete and easily end up winning. But year after year we'd have 12-13-14 players. And ultimately not represent the true strength of hockey we have in the ACH East Ontario league.
Well for the first time since 2014, our representative has a full squad, albeit not until last night and tonight with likely the two best players flying in- Fergus and Tuzzolino. Now I'm not saying this team is as good as the '14 McCoys because they're not. But this team when represented in full, is a very good team.
We're still at a disadvantage to the rest of the country as we can't carry any AP players because we have no AA leagues in our province. And because all of our teams register as AAA. So win or lose tomorrow I think the debate can be put to rest. The Ontario league is very strong and likely would win many Cups with full teams.
Hope for a good game tomorrow.

You make the same post every spring but you never talk about all the times when your league winner never even qualified for the tournament, or the fact other teams have done more while missing just as many key players. And the kicker is...If memory serves me right...you don’t even attend the tournaments outside Ontario...you make your debate based on the little hot flashes you get on a video feed or...even better...you just mail it in. Any-Hoo...Stony Creek obviously didn’t feel it was just a matter of a few more bodies to even up the playing field after they left Steinbach in ‘16. They’ve made marked improvements in several aspects of their team. The best players on THIS Stony team are better...and yes...more experienced than the kids who got their asses handed to them in 2016. So, yes, it should be a great game tomorrow

Yes wade you are correct in that I've only attended four Allan Cups "live". Trust Me I'd love to. Almost had the wife talked into going to Clarenvilke a few years back (everyone loves the beauty of the Rock). Unfortunately she is not the Senior hockey fan that I am lol. As the kids get older, I will get to some out of province games. Hopefully one with both Dundas and Lacombe. We can have a pint or two.
But I will say that there are very few people who have watched/attended or even listened to audio of every single game than I have. I have only missed a couple games in 20 years that were available. For 3-4 years we had the Fast Hockey option of purchasing live video for each game. I watched every one, not just the McCoys games. Listened the past few years to the great Nfld announcers and even watchef every game in this tournament with the twitter feed. It was hard to see the numbers on the jerseys but you can easily see flow of play and which teams deserved to win.
In the end there aren't enough people like us who love Senior hockey. I just hope Stoney Creek can show the country that I am correct. Our league is TEN times stronger than the short benched teams we've historically sent.
Tony, owner of Stoney, has done a terrific job in rounding up all the troops. Just need this dedication every year like the Alberta teams always have.

Well said mlh01.
Never thought I would say this being a Blast fan but I will be cheering Stoney Creek on tonight. No offense Wade but I would like to see the cup in Ontario again.
Either way, it should be a good show tonight.

And all I’m sayin is...if your gonna take the liberty of giving the Ontario team an IDEAL/FULL roster...give every other tournament team the same courtesy. Which, for everyone else, is pointless because we all recognize it’s unrealistic to the point of impossible at this point in the season. The Gens are in THESE Finals despite MISSING a handful of guys who’ve been among the top players in all of Canada the past few years. Depth & character are tested in the tournament. Talent matters, too. Don’t get me wrong...but...I’m tellin ya right now...your kids will be done college and you still won’t have an Allan Cup brought back to Ontario if your waiting for a full roster.

SC best players this year are their best players from last year snd 2016, mostly...the difference is thry have the depth to compete....IE they have their full roster.
It has been very frustrating the last 5 or 6 years watching ON teams show up with skeleton crews and get summarily dismissed from the AC tourney.
This SC team is talented, deep, big and fast. That was a huge statement win over SEPT.They certainly had the tougher semi-final of the 2 armies.
Hoping for a great game tonight.

Wade are you trying to say the AB rep has never lost after winning their league, in AC qualifying? Because that would be false.
Just as our league rep has lost to HNO on occassion, the BC rep has taken down your league champ...and honestly, when was the last time the ACHW rep even had to go the Mac Cup route?

I wasn’t trying to say that...but...actually...The Alberta winner hasn’t lost a Mac Cup Series since....geez....I don’t even know....2002-ish...maybe? Probably a big reason why we hear rumours of BC SE AAA teams but nobody willing to try for a few years now. But...no, Jim, Alberta has won every Mac Cup Series since God was in a stroller.

Fergus, Donati, Konkle, Dziedsiuski, Blanchard, Hult, O Marra and Ruberto were all in NB.
They combined for one goal in the entire tournament. One.
But ya...let’s focus on 2 or 3 guys who were NOT there because nobody else would’ve been missing a couple top players.

Seems to me the Ontario Generals were the class of the tournament...as predicted...they also beat the 2 hardest 'outs' in SEPT and Lacombe to get there.
Nice to see ON represent us well...finally.
I think this also puts to bed which league is stronger...Lacombe basically own a 1 horse league...ACH has 4 legit contenders every year. The Western Generals basically get a free pass to the AC every year.
Oh well, at least Wade can say the Generals still won!!!

I figured Stony Creek would leave Rosetown with their dignity intact this time around. They had ONE WIN out of 10 tournament games prior to the start of elimination games last week. They are deserving champions. Not sure how you figure the ACH has a long list of contenders. Has anyone taken Stony Creek past 5 games in a playoff series during this run they’re on?
