Elsipogtog missed the AAA deadline New Brunswick will be represented this year by the Haut-Madawaska Panthers
Hockey Newfoundland have not confirmed an entry in the Allan Cup If they have a team they will playoff against Haut-Madawaska Panthers with the winner advancing to the Allan Cup as the Atlantic Rep If there is no Newfoundland team then Haut-Madawaska Panthers will advance directly to the Allan Cup
Any word on if the North East Senior Hockey League is playing this year?
They were looking for new teams on their website and all the website now says is "Thank You".
I will try to find out today but that thank you does not look very promising
All the teams have now been confirmed with the exception of Newfoundland where the branch registered a spot in case there is a league and in case the team wants to challenge New Brunswick for the Atlantic spot
Just got word from Elsipogtog that there is no league
Just read an article in the Acadie-Nouvelle where the league will make a decision on Thursday, Sep. 20.
The league is down to three teams, Elsipogtog, Memramcook and Bouctouche and they are hoping to add a fourth team. There is a fourth team who has showed some interest in joining the league, but they are still working some things out.
It seems like a long shot, but the league isn't done yet.
Haut-Madawaska won the Circuit Régional de Hockey regular season with a 21-5-2 record, finishing two points ahead of St-Jacques.
Haut-Madawaska takes on Témiscouata (6-18-2-2), who finished last in the eight-team league. Not much difference in that league between the top four teams so they should have a good team heading into the Allan Cup this year.
jimc: that is a BROKEN system, right there

doc: Going back to a thread of Don Robertson & Doug Mathieson from December relating to the number of teams that were already confirmed for this series. I see how bad the optics are, I find it very difficult doing Google searches to see what teams there are.

doc: They need to get someone to amalgamate the website to be all inclusive. Some years a city or town has a team, the next year they aren't for whatever reason. Also how does a Province take guys from defeated teams and then build an all star group.

doc: It doesn't happen in Ontario, although I am surprised to see Brett Leggat's name on the boxscore last night for Stoney Creek.

enogca: Saw that too. Looks like he was playing backup goalie to Brown.

dsvein: Blatant missed call on Stony Creek´s 5th goal. Watched it 3 times and the goal scorer was a good foot offside. Surprised Lacombe Generals didn´t protest but it probably would have fallen on deaf ears. If you have it recorded, check it out. It was obvious.

doc: Entertaining game from start to finish, even if you didn't have a favorite team playing in the final. There were fouls on both sides during the game that were not called, that's always been the nature of hockey and always will.
