I just saw on social media that the Blast will not be icing a team this season but hope to do so for 2019-2020.
The question is whether there will be a draft for the Blast players as there was for Thorold last season.
The other point of interest is whether there is a draft or not if teams will load up on some Blast players knowing they may only have them for a season and may lose them for a big Ontario Allan Cup season in 2019-2020. There are some big names potentially available at least part time: Leggatt, B Pitton, Prpic, Stephens, Williams, Sault, Rebernik, J Pitton, McIlveen, Clarkson and Caister to name a few.

So, down to a four team league. Again.
Pretty much what I predicted when the big expansion craze started a few years ago in Ontario.
Whitby may or may not be around by this time next year.
And the next really tough question we need to ask is: How much life does The Allan Cup have left?

It’s a shame the Ontario league improved by huge strides last year after a bit of a downturn following the Allan Cup season in 2014.
It will be interesting where some key players end up now.

well the Ontario talent pool certainly isnt a problem...there will be 4 very good teams...good enough to win the Cup, if I am not mistaken?
And for how long did ACW exist with just 4 teams, Wade? Only ONE of which was ever good enough to win it?

Only ONE of which was ever good enough to win it? I think your missing my point: I told you guys, in a variation hereof, back when the MLH expanded & became the ACH...that there would be rolling blackouts around your “expanded league” and that it was highly unlikely the league sustain expansion for very long at all...and...I was right. The SR AAA model....NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE...isn’t easy at the best of times. And as much as it feels good for the ACW to be able to lay claim to the Allan Cup on this magnificent blue moon...Stony Creek has been established as the exclusive powerhouse in that league and it’s NOT out of line to see this fact as a deterrent for new or existing rivals to begin or continue to try & compete with them. Let’s be honest....the sad fact of the matter is...there wasn’t a half chance in hell of anyone stepping up to fund the Brantford team. And another year of Stony Creek at the top of the heap...could easily push Whitby past the brink of disinterest. Alberta isn’t any better off. And nowhere have I claimed it is in the time since Ryan Smyth limped outta the league. I’m gonna say it again....Let’s keep the whole thing on life support, across Canada, for this year and when it’s all said and done....DO NOT RECESSITATE!

I am still in shock over Blast being sold to owner of SC. Gawd - they're the new Dundas in terms of rivalries. Sale still has to be approved but I hope thst's a no brainer.

Why not register the Brantford team as AA and have the league champion use them as an affiliate
