Best of 7 east west final or a some sort of tournament format Best of Seven East West with all games in one teams rink almost guarantees home team victory Splitting the games 3 home 4 away would be difficult financially and time off work

Go back to the old format (with intent to cut down on travel and time missed from work) with all series either best-of-three (night Friday, night Saturday, afternoon Sunday) or two-game-total-goal series (night Saturday, afternoon Sunday) at one rink. Open the tournament up a little more; give lower level provincial champions chance to advance (i.e. Coy Cup-BC Sr AA, Saskatchewan Senior A champion, Manitoba Sr. A champion, WOAA AA champion, Newfoundland-Herder Memorial Trophy champion). In the past many provinces let their intermediate champions either play in the Allan Cup play downs or play the senior champions for the provincial championship. There are 40 Senior leagues in Canada for the 2018-19 season.
Based on present set up with allowing for lower level senior provincial champions
Preliminaries: 1) BC/Yukon and Alberta independents 2) Allan Cup Hockey West (playoffs) 3) Saskatchewan 4) Manitoba/Northwestern Ontario/NWT 5) OHA (Allan Cup Hockey) 6) Eastern Ontario/WOAA/Nunavut 7) Quebec 8) Atlantic provinces play downs (region has traditionally been weaker, an usually grouped together under old systems for Memorial Cup, Allan Cup, and Hardy Cup)
Quarterfinals: 1)BC/Alberta independents vs Alberta 2)Saskatchewan vs Manitoba/Northwestern Ontario 3)Ontario (OHA vs HEO) 4)Quebec vs Atlantic Semifinals 1) winner 1 vs winner 2 2) winner 3 vs winner 4 Final 1) Semifinal winners
Too bad some sponsor could not set up a fixed place for the Allan Cup and some other national tournament with dormitories built near a fixed host facility like the Bell MTS Iceplex in Winnipeg to cut down on boarding expenses for the teams and have an organizing committee that does it on a regular basis and not have to worry if the arena is suitable for television coverage.

I like the idea of having more teams involved, however, I think only AAA registered teams should be eligible for the Allan Cup, but bring in some more Senior tournaments for the AA winners from each province could be cool. Most of those teams have money and commitment from outside sources and sponsorships, I'd argue, potentially better than some AAA teams that I've seen.

There will be more food options that just the concession food, and there is plans for a big screen that will broadcast the game also. They have been pre-selling some swag at the past few home games in Lacombe, but only certain types of swag. The full fleet of swag won't be released until the week of the tournament.

The press article is so outdated that it verges on hilarious . Obviously the author of the column should do a bit of research prior to print. the format for teams has been out for a month, somebody didn't read I!!!

Seph298///)thank you. One last question, can alcohol be consumed in rink ?? Yes, you will be able to drink in the rink this time, unlike when the Generals hosted in 2013.
