I'm hearing this will be whitby's last year in the league if so that means the league will probably fold hence why brantford is loading up It is starting to look like most of the Allan Cup qualifying may become the independent route. Even this year it would have been pretty close to that way if it was an east-west format. Alberta and Ontario would be the only league champion advancing scenarios accounting for 6 teams and five teams would be independents (Rosetown, Haut-Madawaska, and the three teams trying to qualify from Manitoba). Alberta is pretty much well could be considered an independent qualifier as there really isn't a meaningful regular season this year with just two teams. Hopefully Brantford is loading up with the goal of re-starting the Stoney Creek team for next year to keep ACH at 4 teams.

If Brantford is loading up, I would like to know what with. Last 2 games (both against Dundas) they looked disorganized.

Bfd have had a short bench and little interest...cheques not clearing in a timely fashion? Looking at the scoresheet from their game on Saturday, Brantford made the trip to Whitby with only two lines. Not good considering only three weeks remain in the regular season. Brantford vs DundasVideo recap

What is the process for Allan Cup sanctioning? There is a new sr league (EOSHL) finishing it's first season on Friday. Cornwall, Deseronto, Maxville, West Carleton. Smith Falls is joining next year according to the league facebook page.

Smith Falls is joining next year according to the league facebook page. You have to operate the league under Hockey Canada rules and then register as AAA Would these teams fall under Hockey East or Ottawa? If they did register as AAA they would have to play off against the ACH for the Ontario Championship and of course the North could always decide to give it another shot

Not under HEO sanctioning yet it seems but I'm hoping for it in the future.
We had 400+ for game 4 of the EOSHL finals in Cornwall last night (had closer to 200 for the season). Deseronto Bulldogs had between 200-500 for their games. West Carleton's arena seems the middle of nowhere (Cavanaugh Sensplex) but seemed to be picking up as the season went along.
I'd be happy to stay at the AA level, we some to be doing ok after two years (Cornwall played in a AA outaouais league last season), but having also lived in Hamilton and Durham, the Allan Cup still means something to me.

I think folks might be surprised what the league looks like next year. and Whitby ownership are very solid and committed.

I think reports of the demise of SR AAA hockey in ON are greatly exaggerated.

I think reports of the demise of SR AAA hockey in ON are greatly exaggerated. It isn't necessarily Senior AAA but there are quite a few Senior AA or A teams in Quebec with 8 leagues between the Ottawa area and the rest of Quebec. The Outaouais league which started last season (18-19) is now called the Quebec Senior AA League. They were originally hoping to have teams playing at the AAA level in the next few seasons. With an east-west format possibly in the offing for 2021 it would be interesting to see if any additional teams register, even if it's for a chance at having some extra home games. Been amazed with the number of senior teams in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Quebec that there haven't been more teams trying to qualify as an independent team to begin with as in Quebec they would have a free ride to the Allan Cup and a Saskatchewan team would have to win at most 2 series to qualify. And with the way they do provincial playoffs in Saskatchewan they probably would not notice anyway as they have provincial playoffs intermixed with league playoff games.
