Weslosky may or may not be a game changer for HL. As they did against Bentley, the HL team is being outshot at a rate of nearly 2 to 1 and Zahara is starting to show his strength around the net. He was death and destruction to SL and picked up steam as that series went on. Cox has also been absent from the scoreboard, which is unusual considering he was dominant enough in game 1 to be named a game star. Stony have the horsepower to dominate a game and if they're peaking as a team now HL will have it's hands full with or without Weslosky. The only question for Stony will be - "Is their goaltending good enough?" 7 goals in 49 shots won't cut it, getting scored on 5 for 10 in penalties is weak considering Stony only scored 2 for 14 on the PP, a -3 in two games. If you look back at the SL series. those PP goals allowed and less than stellar play-off goaltending by SL was a big part of the difference. That could be what does Stony in. All that said I think it would be great to see Stony rise to it's former glory and make the run all the way to Lloydminster.

I'm pretty sure Weslosky will have a say in this series. Sooner rather than later. Goaltending like that trumps pretty much everything else in the deck. Save for...maybe...the occasional clerical error.

Just been reading all of the posts, and feel that some of the readers have been misinformed. It wasn't the Stoney Plain Eagles team that sent in the appeal for game 1, rather, it was a Chinook Hockey League advisor, Kim Marsh, that discovered the extra import, and immediately telephoned the Eagles organization. As everyone knows, the game was given to the Eagles, and HL coach Dody Wood has been suspended for the remainder of the season.
What amazes me, is that the Lloydminister Border Kings used 9 imports during the last 8 games of the Chinook League Schedule. They won all of the 8 games, which allowed them to compete for the Chinook League Play-off title. There were no suspensions handed down to players or coaches from the Border Kings. The only reason that Lloyd was able to compete for the Play-offs was because of the final 8 victories. If they were to take away the 8 games that Lloyd won by using illegal players, wouldn't a different Chinook League team have made the Play-offs, and benefited from the extra gates??
I wonder why there is a discrepancy involving these two similar situations?? Is this because Lloyd is hosting the Allan Cup, or is it because Horse Lake is a small First Nations Community?? I guess you can come up with your own answers.
