the american boys we have play like they grew up in canada and are a big part of our team. They play with alot of heart and contribute alot to the lineup and are tough as nails. We live in a border town, so the falls boys are welcomed with open arms. our lack of games this year was our downfall but regardless we are proud of what we accomplished this year and loved being part of the tourney, it was some good hockey for sure. We are going to try to be part of it again next year depending on committments and funds. for now, we will cherish our big win over kenora. ...waiting for racing to finish so i can watch the final on tsn. cheers.

I just think its fitting that sept after spending crazy amounts of money not make the finals. I believe they had the best team in the tournament but lack the chemistry and leadership to get the job done. Wet behind the ears? Team not playing in April??? Whatever, all I know is how difficult it is to type because my Allan Cup Ring keeps getting in the way. Do you have that problem. Don't think so!!!!! You just showed the wetness behind your ears , by thinking SEPT has a huge budget, and you dont even know who my team is, so "you are wrong again" It would be good if these newbies on here could get their facts strait and know some history involving senior hockey.

Whats with this wetness behind the ears crap anyway? First thing yingyang i wasn't even talking to you couldn't care less what you think! But seeing that you're spouting off why not. You don't think or do you know about SEPT budget? Well I can tell you some of those players are making more per game than they did playing semi-pro. Do you think those Americans come and play for Marv for the "love of the game" or because they're looking for a "competitive team to play on" try again. And at the end of the day who cares he can spend all the money he wants but if he doesn't win it means nothing. If you don't have team chemistry team unity you won't win squat. After a game over 1/2 the team is gone before the zaboni is done. The 3 P's peanuts, pepsi and popcorn are OK for minor hockey but at this level at least bring in a case of suds for the boys maybe even a pizza or two. Whatever. As for the history of the game yingyang, i've been around it alot longer than you think. I can send you a picture of my Allan Cup ring if you want . Later

Later You obviously dont know marv, as he basically raises almost all of the money with a small crew of about 3 people. so kudo's to him for working that rather than just expecting it to come to him. 2nd he has played hockey with alot of the old Warroad boys so these "few" players he brings in from USA are people he knows well. I don't necessairly agree with importing US players but so be it. 3rd if you saw the guys at the hotel there were plenty of suds had and the guys got along great pending the poor result they had this year and this is the third year now they have done this. SO as for you, i would just keep you name status to "JUST LOOKING" because thats all you are really doing. "Just LOOKING" and not really knowing a whole lot.

For someone who's team is not the sept you sure seem to know alot about the running of the team. Just for giggles yingyang what players from Warroad if any did Marv play with? As for the US players he has playing with him now how well does he REALLY know them? There out of the dressing room faster than you can say "pass the pepsi and where's my cash". I would agree that there are a handfull of them that will tilt a few together after all some of played with each other before but I can guarantee that there was only a few. Also I think this is the 4th time they've been to the dance and nothing to show for it!!! But I still have that Allan Cup Ring getting in the way. Just Looking

Is SEPT the same organization that used to operate as Ile Des Chens?
They DO have an AC championship.

No, Sept is not the same as Ile des Chenes. They are fierce competitors on manitoba and dont like each other one bit. they only play a best of 7 series against each other and a handful of exhibition games each year, but those can get pretty heated up. Ile des Chenes won the Allan in 2003. that team had pat faloon, kelly glowa, stan reddick, billy lund i believe and a bunch others.
SEPT only formed 3 or 4 years ago.

With the new rules coming regarding registering as AAA. In manitoba if SEPT and the Ile Des Chenes North Stars could ever get along and form one team they would be a definite force to be reckoned with. But again it would be a "put together team" of head hunters and top all stars and they would need to get some games in together. Bu they could use the Man-Sask playoff against Lloydminster as a warmup and throw in a few exhibition games and they are good to go. This is something that provinces which have AAA leagues cringe at, and i cant blame them, but manitoba has always struggled with holding a top level senior league that operates on a permanent basis.

Just looking you must have a pathetic life standing around the corner of sept dressing room with a stop watch timing how long players stick around after games ! maybe be you should worry more about the northstars and what is all wrong with them.I know a number of them would have signed with sept but Roger wouldn"t release them so team chemistry cant be that good over there .Losing to the thunder year in and year out may have something to do with it .

Later i personally brought beer to the sept dressing room on more than one occasion and saw a pizza delivery arrive at the same time the boys were very well looked after

marv played with the some of the marvin's like dave, and in his time with the grunthal red wings really got to know alot of the other guys up there he played with through the marvins. He had matt Ulwelling on his team which was part of the lakers in 1996, this year ullwelling couldnt make it out because he refs top level hockey in the us. Ile Des Chenes wished they could of got some of these players. Only wished ! It looks like you are being roughed up here a bit "Just Looking" I am glad you got your ring because you wont be getting another. Dont let the door hit you on the way out. HAHAHAHAHA!!!
