WAY TO ATTEND THE GAME AND TAKE ONE FOR THE TEAM TO KEEP US UPDATED! I WAS GOING TO DRIVE OVER FROM ONTARIO BUT DECIDED AGAINST IT TO WATCH A TROUNCING. ROUGH GAMES OR JUST AN ASS KICKING ON THE SCORESHEET?

ROUGH GAMES OR JUST AN ASS KICKING ON THE SCORESHEET? I wouldn’t say the games were rough but it seemed like the Norway House team’s level of chippiness and stick work increased proportionately as their deficits increased. I’ll never knock a team for trying and you gotta start somewhere but I thought after last year they would’ve figured some things out and been just a bit more competitive. To be very blunt this team wasn’t anywhere near good enough to throw their hat in this ring. Not trying to be disrespectful but those scores could’ve been even worse.

To be very blunt this team wasn’t anywhere near good enough to throw their hat in this ring. Not trying to be disrespectful but those scores could’ve been even worse. Spot on with your comments. Was at the game today and that's pretty much exactly how I would also evaluate it. This could have got (if possible to believe) even more embarrassing had southeast not let off towards the back half of the game, and really the entire game (i dont think we saw them push the pace like they really could have). And the fact they were missing Garbutt Lowe Leblanc St Croix and Cole makes me also think it could have gotten even more ugly had they had the full roster. Norway House just doesn't have anyone who is anywhere close to playing/played at this level (aside for Later but he was pretty much invisible, which he definitely gets a mulligan with all things considering). There basically a team of mostly ex junior B players so it's really hard to guage how good southeast is yet. But I guess will have a better idea come the Rosetown series. Dont get me wrong they will be good and rightfully so with the roster they have assembled. And correct, when you know before the game even starts your going to be extremely up against it, taking the worst undisciplined penalties (I lost track of the amount undisciplined stick infraction penalties they took)isn't going to help. I get penalties will happen, (especially when your chasing the entire game like Norway House was), but they didnt do themselves any favors to at least try keep the score within respectability. Honestly at times was like southeast had the puck on a string for long stretches of the game. Norway House just doesn't/didnt have the talent to compete with them in any way. Not much more to say as the scores pretty much tell it all.

HATS OFF TO NORWAY HOUSE FOR TRYING TO MAKE A LOCAL TOWN TEAM AND ATTEMPT TO COMPETE. SADLY THEY WERE TAKING ON A TALENTED AND EXPERIENCED TEAM IN SEPT. MANITOBA HAS 1.3 MILLION PEOPLE AND ONE AAA TEAM. AND THEY HAVE A FEW ONTARIO GUYS IN THE MIX AND SOMETIMES A USA GUY OR TWO. HOW CAN NORWAY HOUSE (OR ANYONE) COMPETE WITH THAT? CANT...WAY TOO MANY QUALITY PLAYERS TO RECRUIT FOR A SINGLE TEAM. IT WILL BE INTERESTING WHEN THEY PLAY ROSETOWN BUT I IMAGINE A SIMILAR OUTCOME WITH MAYBE LESS GOALS FOR. WE WILL SEE SOON PLAN ON A TRIP TO THE ALLAN CUP BOYS!

Agreed that they went pretty much exclusively with an all home town team which is rare in any team sports now or days, so my hat goes off to them for doing that! I noticed on the roster sheet they listed a few AP but I believe only maybe one was in the line up yesterday. So not sure if those other guys were not able to commit or just no showed possibly knowing what the outcome would already be? Even if those guys all show (and even if southeast takes stuart and white both out of their lineup) the results are still the same though. On a side note with southeast, didnt recognize at all who there back up goalie was. Was quite surprised they dont have one of Jayson Argue or Byron Spriggs on their roster as another goaltender. If Christie was to ever go down that could be a major impact for them.

Didn’t have Spriggs on the roster because he would’ve had to be an AP for the Manitoba playdowns. Now they can pick him up for the rest of the way without being an AP and I believe that’s the plan.

B37 goaltender addition for out-of-branch play Thanks hockeyman. Saves me researching the specifics of the rule. And thanks Doug for asking for clarification. My info is not team intel but just things I gather as a fan so I definitely wouldn’ t want to convey inaccuracies.

I know there are some allegences to Christie and Spriggs, and both deservingly so, but I would have taken Argue as my number one out of the three.
