I see many penalties. Wasn't at the game. Can someone comment on the game - the score indicates it was more one sided than Brantford's win on Friday, and describe what Tocher and Prpic did?

Catsfan, how does the team that the Caribous are icing, that is down 3 game to none, compare to the team that they are bringing to the Allan Cup.
I heard that they are bringing affiliate players. Are they playing already?

I hope they are as well. For $200 you see all 11 games. It's actually a great deal to see very high quality hockey.
I've been to two Leafs games this year. One at $125 per ticket x 2 (greens). And the other at $280 x 2 (golds).
So for less than the price of one gold Leafs ticket, you can watch the whole tournament.
Hopefully others realize the value.
Curious to know as historically Hamilton is a very strong "walkup" sports city.

B-Iagree with most of what you said. Brantford does seem to be very disorganized at times while on the PP.
Stewart, Ward and Nick Smith were dominant most shifts, especially on the PP.
One issue though is that I agree Stewart, Smith and Ward were great, Nick Smith is even better with Christie. They've played together for years.
It does create a dilemma for lines. We essentially have two #1 lines - Mifsud, D. Smith and Watson. Then Christie, N. Smith and Ward. Where do you put Stewart? He scores every game he plays. He does justify staying on one of the top two lines.
If not, it would leave Stewart, Davis and whomever...Rowe or Foreman.
That is 3 deadly lines.

Agree. None of the people I attend games with are aware that this forum exists.
I've told them how to navigate. They visit the Dundas site to see when the home games are. That is their extent of Senior A hockey participation online. A link from the McCoys homepage to this is a very good idea to create interest.

I thought they sold closer to 1200 for Kraft Hockeyville in Dundas. I've noticed a few arena listing websites showing Market St Arena at 1500 capacity...so I'm thinking 1100 seats minumum.
Don Robertson - how many seat packages are you selling for the Allan Cup?

Hi munzie...yes meant I was replying to naitch. I had read one of your posts from another thread and used your name here.
Hopefully something can be worked out. Barry and Doug both seem to have the expertise. Doug's site is great and Barry knows how to drive traffic. Whether it's a new site or not, just have it linked to every Senior teams webpage...that is the key driver. Team webpage to League webpage to the forum.
Used to love the banter between Cambridge, Brantford and Dundas fans.
Again. Now 99 percent of people at the game do not know about this site and have nowhere to talk about the game they just attended.
As mentioned, go on the Ticats page before, during or after their game...literally 100's of posts. Senior is not at that level (25-30k fans per game) but do have fans who want to discuss hockey (on a forum that EVERYONE will know exists).

Barrie - you had asked in another thread if a National Senior hockey forum would be a good idea. I believe Wade responded that there were enough Senior forums.
I respectfully disagree. There may be forums but not many people are aware. This holds especially true in Ontario. There may be approx 20-30 regular contributors from Ontario to this forum.
The Allan Cup League (Ontario Senior A) does not even have a link to any forums or chat rooms.
This site used to be affiliated with the old Major League Hockey site but no longer seems to be. Again, there is not an available ACH forum.
Many fans in Ontario would love to have a forum to debate Dundas, Whitby, Brantford, etc. But frankly there aren't any. And not enough people know about this site. Many days go by without a single post.
Would love it if you were to pursue a forum for all of Senior hockey. If a sponsor could be found, even just a small banner in each Senior rink, advertising the site in the programs, etc would generate interest.
I find the CFL, specifically Bob Young and the Ticats have embraced this medium. They have one of the best fan websites and fan forums in North America. And I know for a fact it has helped them tremendously with ticket sales....the more people are talking Ticats, the more interested they are in watching and attending games.
This most certainly would also hold true for Senior hockey across the country.
Senior hockey is truly a great sport. The talent level is growing every year. Unfortunately not enough people are aware.
A well publicized National Senior hockey forum would go a long way towards growing the sport.
Look forward to your thoughts Barry... and by the way your Newfoundland forum is terrific.

Unless they are older ex NHL players Wade. McKee and Peca were near the top of the NHL for the type of players they were. And they are both under 40.
Also hearing Jason Arnott in Dundas is a possibility.

Hopefully just the beginning...
Jay McKee, now Matthew Barnaby. With McKee as player- coach, which other ex-NHLers will McKee bring in for the Cup run at home in Dundas? Stay tuned all - will get interesting.
Article from tomorrow's Hamilton Spectator:
Former NHLer Matthew Barnaby joins Dundas Real McCoys
The Dundas Real McCoys just got a little more abrasive on the ice.
Former NHLer Matthew Barnaby -- owner of 2,562 penalty minutes in his career -- signed with the Senior AAA team Thursday morning. He will be in the team's lineup on opening night Nov. 8 in Brantford.
Barnaby is a former teammate of McCoys' defenceman and playing coach Jay McKee when they were both on the Buffalo Sabres.
Dundas will host the Allan Cup in April and receive an automatic entry into the tournament for the championship of Canadian senior hockey.

They say that one player does not make a team - agreed. But the Dundas Real McCoys are 6-1 since ex-NHL Penguins/Sabres defenceman Jay McKee joined the team. Steady player with over 800 NHL games.
The only loss was the meaningless last game of the season with nothing on the line, and many regulars out of the lineup.
Defence has always been the achilles heel of the McCoys.
Now up 3-0 over the Dunlops....

Just to add to that - honestly most people in Ontario don't realize that this forum still exists. In talking to many people at the McCoys game they figured there was no forum for Senior hockey anymore and didn't realize you could login from the Allan Cup page.

My point was that most people in Ontario go to the ACH page during the season. There has been a link from that page since the inception of their league (MLH which is now ACH)... If you notice, the number of posts has decreased significantly since the link was dropped a few months back. Most posts are now from the west as many (if not all) would not even think to go the Allan Cup page. The Allan Cup is 7 months away...
Too bad you are not involved with the ACH anymore - would be great for your forum if you could generate a link from their page again. I remember (not too long ago) when there would be many new threads every week concerning Ontario Senior AAA. But you won't have too many when there is no "Ontario" forum link any more...Just my opinion.
