What is going on in Clarenville regarding the refereeing?
I'm listening to the Bentley Clarenville game right now, the refs just put bentley down 2 men . the announcer said it was barely a slash, away from the play, very maginal. Why would you ever put a team down two men on something like that.
I see in the Dundas - GFW game the disparity in powerplay time was huge and something you don't see often and when you do , the team usually has a couple of goons running around. Now i see here in Dundas - SEPT gamer, Dundas got 4 penalties in the last 9 minutes, wow.
Wade can you comment on what you are seeing? anyone else at the games?

Tonite had a home slant to it.
Nothing criminal...but...just the typical kind of slight edge the home team typically gets.
You battle through it. Because that's just how it is, IMO.

If there was a slant either way it was againt the home team. A penality is a penality. if its puts a team down by two then so be it. it still has to be called.

Doesn't matter where they're from. The home team gets the calls. It's been that way since God was in diapers.
I really have no complaints because I fully expected to be this way.
I didn't come all the way across the country to worry about bullshit Reffing.
I'm here for The Allan Cup.

Kostyck is at the Allan Cup? The only game I saw him do a half decent job at was one of the Renwick Cup games.

Ontario refs, that actually explains it, its 50/50 at best if they will do a decent job or not, the reffing I see in the ACH is poor, at best and Dundas is not liked by any of them, so it seems.
I will say from the few playoff games I saw, they were average, a few bad calls in each but thats better than usual. Sounds like they have gone back to their own ways, there shouldn't be any OHA referees at the Allan Cup considering their track record.
The opening box score looks like such a joke. You have a difference in powerplay time by that amount. I remember playing a playoff game in Thorold as a kid, the game before the ref had suspended at least 5 of our players, and we didn't know until we saw the gamesheet before the game , as the suspensions were all called at the end of the game. It left us with 8 skaters, i remember we amazingly we took a 4-1 lead going into the 3rd. THe ref took it in his own hands and called penaly after penaly against us, we had 1 player on the bench at times. I remember looking at the ref for my penaltly in the 3rd and said :you're not even gonna give us a chance, are you" and he just smiled back at me. we lost 7-4.

I thought they let Clarenville really push the envelope on some of the hits they dished out. I also thought the hometown crowd did a good job pressuring Stripes to give them some excessive PP opportunities. The 5on3 they had was gifted, IMO.
It's tough...but...like I said before...your not taking this ship off the Rock if your not prepared to play right on through it .
