Wade, I was merely attempting to figure out why you were referring to the number of players that were listed on a program which you grabbed on your way into the rink at Inny, and the suggestions or conclusions that you appeared to draw from that which didn't make sense to me.
While I appreciate your lesson on the idea's and theories behind 28 man rosters. I am also quite sure that you would know of my awareness to those thoughts and theories as well as other relative matters to the subject.
When I was responding to Sniper, I was not supporting nor maligning 13 skaters. Nor was I suggesting that the team which his team was facing had an overall strong game one way or the other. I was simply reporting to someone who was not in attendance that the crowd was quite entertained during the latter segments of the game. I was also attempting to suggest that if his team did in fact have first place aspirations, that it would have been helpful if they could have scored more than one goal against a fifth place team with 13 skaters, in a game that provided three full periods plus an overtime period and a shootout, when our regular season is close to done and the chips were on the line for his team to reach an objective.
I have made a point of attending between two & three ACH games each weekend this season, adequately covering all six teams and combinations in the league. I've observed what appears to me to be a generally healthy & competitive league with all teams finding their share of quality additions throughout the season. There are objectives that are being worked on for improvement, in particular additional representation in the eastern side of the league. That being said, who knows for certain what the future will bring. Certainly not you and certainly not me. I can say that I see signs for optimism, and while I wouldn't think of putting myself up as an expert on your Chinook league, I am reasonably confident of your future success while working away at whatever challenges that there might be. I certainly wish for you every success.
