Doug-quick question. I thought the only team AAA in Nfld is Grand Falls. No team from the Avalon League is AAA. I suppose they could declare for next year, but I'm thinking Grand Falls is already the rep from Nfld for next year as well.

The Newfoundland Champion from this year declares AAA for next year. Grand Falls-Windsor is not the Newfoundland Champ until they beat the Avalon league Champ From what I understand no one is expecting Grand Falls-Windsor to lose a game to the Avalon Champ The Avalon Champ is allowed extra pickups to make it more competitive and if they happen to pull the upset all they would have to do is declare AAA next season. With the Cup in New Brunswick and assuming Quebec does not ice a team, it would be probable the Newfoundland Champ would go directly to the Cup

It costs almost as much to travel Newfoundland<>New Brunswick as it does Newfoundland<>Ontario.
Many Newfoundland hockey fans skeptical theyll have a SR AAA Rep in New Brunswick.

I thought even if Quebec does ice a team wouldn't there would have to be a third team in the Atlantic region that would have to declare AAA for the Herder champ not to directly qualify for the 2017 Allan Cup. and further more (spot 1)Host: (spot 2) Atlantic region champ: Herder Cup champ 2016 and who ever else declares (spot 3) Ontario champ (central) (spot 4) SK-MB champ (west) (spot 5) BC-Alberta champ (Pacific) (spot 6) Quebec: ? (oh great, now who gets this spot if no one else in Atlantic Canada declares?!?)

there will be either a second team for NFLD, or a 2nd team from NB, would be my guess

With the Cup in New Brunswick there remains the chance that another Atlantic Canada team pops up out of the woodwork resulting in a playoff against the Newfoundland team, assuming that Quebec declares If Quebec is not in there spot goes to host branch and you would have the Host, Newfoundland and the other Atlantic team with no playoff necessary

NL fans are tired of the Allen Cup. It's doing nothing only ruining our league. Time for teams to concentrate on the regular season and the Herder championship. There will be no rep from NL next year. Jimc is dreaming to think there will be 2 teams from NL next year

How is it 'ruining' your league, exactly?
If anything, your league continuing to get special treatment is a detriment to the AC
