The Old War Machine will have at least one big ADD to the line-up today.
I expect a highly challenging game for the Alberta Champs.
Westblom looked more than OK in net for IDC on Monday afternoon. IDC doesn't have a wickedly deep roster...but...they've got a top end which I see as dangerous.
The Bye is what we want. Gonna have to go get it.

Yes, and your guys are going to have to earn their all important day off between games, while Stoney got an automatic given to them due to the round robin schedule.

No question that scheduling detail can be a glimmer of light at the bottom of a deep hole for SCG. But...winning games is never a bad plan and The Army can only control what is at hand.

Sounded like it was a good game.

IDC gave Ryan Person the start in net & sliced open the scoring when Lee Goren zapped a wrist shot over Heemskerks' shoulder.
The Gens' then responded with a big push, scoring a PPG and going ahead on a goal from Alex Macleod.
In the middle period...IDC began to get bushels of PP time & their big line of Goren, Leblanc & Doell did some impressive damage & put "the other Manitoba team" up 3-2. Amid the maddening run of PIMs, Adam Huxley dove, headlong, into the path of a missile and was laying in a crimson puddle inside the D-zone. Piss poor officiating...didn't even blow play dead immediately...waiting for Bentley to regain control before allowing the player to get medical attention. I was extremely disappointed to see that happen. Stripes primary job is to protect player safety & they failed to deliver on that and many other duties this afternoon.
The Army was strangled with even more PIMs in the 3rd...but...Ian Schultz master-crafted a wrister off the shortside post to tie 3-3 with about 8:00 to go:
Justice was then rendered with under 2:00 to go when Big Stef stamped his 5th in 2 games.
Helluva game and a critical win.

Huxley bravely returned to the game in the 3rd period. Lots of zips and not many teeth. Gutsy stuff.

FULL MARKS TO THAT HUXLEY GUY FOR STILL PLAYING AFTER A BRUTAL PUCK TO THE MOUTH. DONT THINK THERES MANY LEFT THAT WOULD PLAY ON AFTER THAT SHOT ESPECIALLY IN ROUND ROBIN PLAY!
IS THAT STEFANISHION GUY A LAST MINUTE PICKUP FOR NFLD LIKE THEY ALWAYS DO? OH MY BAD, HES A BENTLEY PICKUP! HES BIG AND DOMINANT THOUGH.
BACK AT HOME FOR NOW WADE SO KEEP THE DETAILED GAME REPORTS COMING PLEASE

Huxley was hawking the roulette table in the casino last night and his mouth was still bleeding. Hilarious scene...trying to order chips from the dealer while mopping blood spatter from his face. What a beauty. Haha!
Stef' is a prized weapon for gun collectors. He's the worst kept secret in SR hockey since playing on the big stage in 2013. The only team using LESS affiliates' than Bentley...are the Stony Creek Lieutenants. I guess it's a quality not quantities type of deal.

Great games yesterday and it only gets better. Gillis GFW backstopped a bye for the Cats. Wow what a last 15 min. in the third. Two happy clubs GFW and Bently with the rest day. Huxley deserves it for the comeback. Christie has some holes so we found out. SWT will need a great game between the pipes . I think we will see 60 min out of that SCG team today.
Not good to have no shot clock at the rink. They hook up for the Jrs. so what's the deal? Ya what's the deal?
And away we go as two go home today!!

Oh by the way.
Great tournament . Different setting than I am used to but the same amount of dedicated work. Volunteers are great and the organizers will do all they can to help you out. Hey Marv and Jared and staff, your right on.
N.B. next year should be a blast. Make your trip early!!
