Not sure what happened but the Dundas Real McCoys could only ice 11 skaters this evening. When entering the arena, there was a sign saying tonight's game would only be $5 to get in, as a result of only having 11 players dressed.
Kudos to Donnie for reducing the price. The crowd was actually larger than the norm of this season. Not sure if it was the $5 admission or people coming out to see Todd Harvey's brother (who didn't play).
Anyone have any insight as to why only 11 players showed up?

Bloody disgraceful It is not the first time Dundas has iced half a bench you can't win games like that.

I'm not poking fun but I've mentioned this as an issue before with Dundas. I was impressed how they added several players this year but it's bad when they promote Harvey and then he's not even in the lineup.
Brantford has also been short many times this season particularly for Sat games. They've had trouble finding enough quality younger players to supplement vets who still are big contributors.
Hamilton doesn't appear to have many players signed and appears short most games.
Stoney Creek is getting the top players out of the pro ranks. Draw conclusions as you may as to why.
The issue I feel is that with 4 teams in the Hamilton area and another a short distance away in Niagara and the market is too saturated for players.
Yes - maybe more players are interested with shorter road trips. Fans can also travel to away games but from I've saw this year there were sparse crowds in both Stoney Creek and less than prior years in Dundas.
The issue then is that quality players come from a distance away and with that as expected in an amateur league is absences.

Interesting.
There was a guy who predicted this scenario when the ACH expanded. Anyone remember him?

Hamilton with a few good signings in the lineup tonight actually. Dean Strong may be a bit under the radar but will be a good addition for them.

Dundas has 12 skaters tonight here in Brantford. What the +++ is going on?
Did a handful of players quit?
Can someone from the McCoys let the fans know.

Probably released too many guys at cut down deadline again in favour of signing big name no shows! Wow I have been away a while and getting my ass kicked which I'm ok with as this is the place for it. Firstly the $ 5.00 adm sign was produced at 3:30 game day no nobody knew till they got to the rink, you can't charge full price when you have many guys hurt, sick and away pretty simple. We have had injuries and yes cut back Jan 10th because we didn't what we had could win and that's kinds what we like to do. Harvey wasn't cleared by Hockey Canada ( I can't even voice my opinion on that and stay within Hockey Canada ). Life is never real easy at this level. Wade has a point about too many teams in one spot but I don't think that's why teams are short, if you don't pay players they aren't going to skip work and family events it's the way it is. The $5 game was a pretty good game but we needed more guys so we for the first time ever offered a reduced rate. Our league will have a great playoff I'm sure as least in the top 2 Sr. aAA leagues in the country, oops sorry there are only 2 Sr AAA leagues within Hockey Canada, what a same. Regards Don Robertson

do all 6 teams still get a free playoff spot???
the reg season should weed out at least the last place team, and ideally the bottom 2, to make it worth something.

It's a crap shoot as to what the playoff structure is in Ontario.
