There should only be one team named "Generals" in all of hockey and That is The OSHAWA GENERALS!!! (OHL/CHL). The team has been around since 1937.
5 time Memorial Cup Champion. 13 time OHL Champion including 7 in a row. (All records by the way).
I always get a little chuckle when the Whitby Dunlops use the Generals bus for road games in Stoney Creek.
................................................
The Allan Cup is stupid "In and of itself", If some teams have to win to get in and some don't. Don't see that in the Memorial Cup.

Actually wrong. Memorial Cup host Windsor this year already knocked out in first round.
They will now sit for a month and a half, winning nothing...but will play in Memorial Cup

League rules banning 'imports' during the regular season have nothing to do with Allan Cup competition. that has nothing to do with Hockey Canada...the only thing that matters is teams in the same league being allowed to declare AAA or AA, which then creates a ridiculous AP situation, where teams can raid their own leagues and put together an AS team...it is absurd. Actually the Cataracts have only added 3 players from within their league plus a third goalie, all from Clarenville. Hardly raiding the league to make an all star team. Of the 21 players on their roster all year, 18 are in Bouctouche. Some couldn't attend due to work or school commitments. The Cataracts have 17 returning players from last year's Allan Cup team, way more than any of the other 3 teams returning from last year. Sorry if the facts don't fit your narrative.

that is great...first time ever...congrats still a bullshit loophole Actually the proper response would have been to simply admit you were wrong....because you were. I realize that's a dufficult thing for some people to do. You should try it though. It might make you feel better.

Maybe to a lesser extent this year than some other years....but...ya. Because they qualified over a year ago...they were able to hire Stefanishion and Sloan this year.

His statement was that only 1/3 of the Cataracts team played with the team this season. That is factually WRONG. After pointing this out to him he changed his statement to "the rule is bullshit". As for "hiring" Sloan, you're also wrong.

Be proven wrong on your comments so keep changing your arguments to something else rather than admit you're wrong...which you were/ are.

Actually, dumbshit, my original post was 100% in reference to the rule itself...i never mentioned THIS years team specifically...i was speaking in general terms...based on pretty much every tournament leading up to this one...nuance is difficult, i know.
The rule is dumb. period. Your team still took advantage of it this year.period.
Should we even bother discussing the joke of a rule that allows you to qualify a year in advance??
