SHOCKED at SEPT getting thumped in the semis, as well as at the number of goals they gave up overall. Lots of missed assignments in the 3rd. Didn't seem to have a game plan in the third like they did in the secon

14 goals against in their final 2 games is very uncharacteristic.

Yes. Uncharacteristic indeed. Something didn't work there in the third. Full marks to lacombe but something was off with SEPT

One of the main pillars behind what really made SEPT emerge as a top team was two big, poised and professional defence men, Ryan Bonni & Rob Smith.
Smith stepped away a couple years ago and although Bonni still plays...he MIGHT be finding the game is getting pretty quick for his legs these days.
As for Yake...he wasn't EVER a dominant AC performer...but....he was always steady. And absolutely robotic on face offs. IMO...for SEPT to consistently maintain defensive dominance...they likely require someone who can be relied on to win key draws. They love to slow the game down. It's much harder to do when your not winning 70% (+) on draws.
They'll likely get a very favourable Allan Cup qualifying situation next spring when it's in Rosetown and I won't hesitate to once again hold them in high regard...at least in terms of their championship contention.

Can't see that ever happening. Nor should it. That would be about the most gutless thing to ever happen. Not unlike the kissing cousins on the Atlantic coast who've won 2 Allan Cups between them, now.

Doubtful it would happen. Marv and st Laurent to don't see eye to eye and it's been a Manitoba arch rival for near 15 years.

Hard to swallow isn't it Wade .Perhaps it NL don't send a team and SEPT don't bring in players half way through the tournament the Generals might win . Oh It's a hard pill to swallow

I can see how, coming from Wade, it sounds like sour grapes...but he does have very valid points.

I guess an Allan Cup ring for each of them could be considered a wedding band? I'm not sure of the laws out there...In Alberta...your not allowed to marry your relatives. But whatever cranks your prop, Dexter.
