Jing jang. Just watched SEPT vs Stoney. Was very good game.
If the Ontario reinforcements show up tomorrow and one of the other teams win, then this Ontario boy will admit we have no excuses this year.
You have pointed out, and in all fairness you are correct, that we (in Ontario) always play the "but our full team was not there" card when our teams have not competed well or won the Allan Cup.
Although I don't agree with Mr Ham's assessment that Stoney is the best Senior team in 30 years, they are very good when the full squad plays. Easily the best Senior team in Ont. I still maintain the best all around team I have seen in 30 years is the 2014 McCoys and likely the Bentley team from 08-09.
Good luck to all. No one will have excuses. The best team will come out on top in my opinion.

no doubt that it was a great game today between stony creek and SEPT. Both teams can play and the game had the right amount of chippyness to make it entertaining for the viewers. I think this will be a tight tourney with no clear cut favourites. I hope to see stony do well and agree they can surprise. But do disagree that the 14 mccoys were the best team. To me that's between 2010 St. John's team 2009 Bentley team or most importantly 1996-1997 warroad lakers who were insane! Marv of SEPT was tightly associated with those old warroad teams.

Yes. Fort St. John hosted that year. Ambushed Bentley SEPT and Dundas all in the same year

Yes. Fort St. John hosted that year. Ambushed Bentley SEPT and Dundas all in the same year FSJ had a very good 2010 tournament. But I don't believe they played Dundas. They beat Bentley & Clarenville in round robin. Then beat a short-benched SEPT in semi-finals & an exhausted Bentley team in the Finals.

Correct wade. No dundas but FSJ seemed to be in their own league in that tourney. Full respect to Dundas but I don't think they had a hope against FSJ that year either even if they had played them.

Agreed. FSJ was a wildfire that week in 2010. The Army had taken 3 straight Mac Cups from them but they were men possessed on revenge when they hosted AC2010.

That 2014 Dundas team was amazing...built specifically for their band box of a rink...i would put them up against anyone on home ice, at least.

MAYBE WE SHOULD CHANGE THE TOPIC HEADING TO "SEPT IS GOOD SOMETIMES?"!

I guess this frustrates me in two ways. 1) I was personally hoping they would do well 2) all I hear about each year is how "this will be the year" and all players will show up and play and will form one of the best Ontario reps ever. Again just lip service with no results ......

SHOCKED at SEPT getting thumped in the semis, as well as at the number of goals they gave up overall.

They only had 2 lines that were effective and the defence pairings were never consistent .
