Does that mean Clarenville gets the AAA spot if there is a league

Is it too late for the Harbour Grace Cee Bee Stars to declare Senior AAA?
With the way senior hockey in Newfoundland is right now; I would not be surprised if they stick it to the rest of the senior teams and declare they will take the province's spot in the Atlantic regional qualifying for the Allan Cup as payback for the way they have been treated by the now former members of the Avalon East Senior Hockey League and the members of the Central West Senior Hockey League.

Deadline has passed and they have no interest,no money or both to go for the Allan Cup They turned down their previous Herder win which would have given them direct entry into the Allan Cup

Deadline has passed and they have no interest,no money or both to go for the Allan Cup They turned down their previous Herder win which would have given them direct entry into the Allan Cup I would say it was no interest as they apparently were very good at fund raising compared to the other teams that were in the Avalon East League. Plus the whole mess with the league started over them supposedly paying players. I had read (can't remember which article or which player is was) that one player was being recruited by one of the Central-West League teams and supposedly told them their offer was nothing near what the Cee Bee Stars were offering. Plus the AESHL had the permit for the team's Chase the Ace lottery cancelled. I would think that being messed with as bad as this team has they may be a little PO'd. Doug you have said in other post that the August 15 deadline is hardly firm deadline. And under the circumstances if it was me I would put in an appeal with Hockey Canada to get in. And if I got in I would take a look at what I have in the bank and decide to I go for it or back out at the last minute and give out some payback to Grand Falls-Windsor and Clarenville for using the other four teams from the former AESHL as scheduling partners and screwing me out of a real regular season. This whole thing with Newfoundland has gotten ugly and childish. Apparently there are plenty of reasons for senior hockey in the province to be killed off everywhere on the island except the west coast. The Cee Bee Stars situation has shown how stupid things can get. Instead of just inviting them to join the CWSHL and give them four teams and the AESHL having four teams and have the two league champs meet for the Herder like last year. The other four members of the AESHL take their puck and don't let the Cee Bee Stars play. The CWSHL was openly stating that they needed a fourth team to make a 2017-18 season possible and they have a no brainer of an addition with the Cee Bee Stars. Nope they decide to schedule games with the four former AESHL teams. This sounds like the making of a spurned lover screwing over everyone else to me. If the Cee Bee Stars have no one to play on the island they are a dead team anyway so let's wait and see if it would be just a suicide ending (folding) for the team or do they take up to eight other teams with them. Hopefully, cooler heads would prevail but Hockey NL was left with egg on their face from the Cee Bee Stars getting back into the AESHL and that league disappearing. They also still have a black eye with the ending of last season's Herder and the appeal. www.nlhockeytalk.ca/2017/09/02/stooping-to-a-new-low-in-senior-hockey/

The Elsipogtog Hawks facebook page gave had a posting on October 5th that gave a listing of their schedule. It included a round robin scheduled for January 25-27 with a championship game listed for January 28th headlined as "Atlantic Regionals Allan Cup" with the Clarenville Caribous, Elsipogtog Hawks, and the Montague Stallions. I have no idea,I would think that as last years champs they would want to defend title, it will cost alot, a few days in NB for a mini tourn, then Sask for AC...not cheap..I seen on some hockey sites that some of the Cats players are signed with other teams.
