you know if there was more hitting in the senior aaa you wouldn't see the old guys you see playing. The 35-50 crowd would be retired.

Hey, they are going NOWHERE with the current crop of youngsters they have, Robbie. Unless they add some vet mercenaries, they may miss the playoffs, even. Cam Watson is an EXCELLENT player, but is alone on an island. Jim C The last team to think that brining vet mercenaries in will work don't play in this League anymore ( maybe next year ) The Hornets proved you can't win that way and the Real McCoys don't think it works either, that said some of the long time McCoys come back during the season. We always think outside the box and try and find a better way, it doesn't always work and may not angain this year but we try. Regards Don Robertson Now that's funny...the team in question does not play in this league any more because the other 2 teams who did EXACTLY what the other said team did decided they didn't being beaten at their own game and conspired with Brent Ladds to railroad said original team. I actually sat in a meeting where two specific GM's tried to blackball Jeff Zehr and Chris McKenzie because they wanted more money than Dundas or Brantford were willing to pay. true story. Nice try. Obviously the last team to pay players a lot of money and be successful were the Brantford Blast, in winning the 100th edition of the Allan Cup. They spent more that year than Cambridge OR Aylmer ever did. Donnie, the fact that your team routinely comes up shorter and shorter every year as your Foundry sponsorship dollars dry up is all the proof we need that you were, in fact, doing business as usual (you know, like when you actually won an AC) in years previous, and are finding it more and more difficult trying to compete w/o compensating your players. cause and effect. Leopards, especially old crafty ones, never change their spots. Do you really expect people to believe that all the reinforcements who arrive late in the season suddenly show up out of the goodness of their hearts? If you're not spending as much as Peter, then maybe you're just doing it wrong!!! hey Donnie, no more hard feelings, too much time has passed, but just own up to it...the truth will set you free.

you know I went to a midget girls hockey game and saw more hits than in a Dundas game. Some of these guys need to break a few eggs when they go into the corner.

The OHA is a joke...they have legislated fighting and hitting entirely out of the game.

how the hell can there be any hitting when "some" teams are rolling into town with 11 skaters and one goalie? You start any hitting game and next thing you know its 6-0 after the first period! ( thank god the goalie interference penalty is active) If there going to change any rule, or make up a new rule or create a rule from a wet dream... why not a team be penalized for 11 skaters?
That's bull*%!T. Have a rink full of people to watch a premier hockey game to see 11 skaters and 6-0 after the first. Nice!!!
Change the name, change the game, change your underwear, but if you don't change the iconic people organizing and operating the ACH or any league for that matter really, nothing has changed...NOTHING!!!
Sit around change a few rules to justify their existence , but next thing you know, teams are folding up like used lawn chairs and the teams left behind have to reach out, reorganize and rebuild.
At least the WOAA has maintained the way they operate and are not being bullied by the OHA or league members. Maybe that's where the remaining AHL teams will end up for 2012!

There is no need for such a heated discussion directing comments only to Dundas Real McCoys. On Friday, the McCoys faced a shortstaffed orillia squad. We came into the rink with only 11 skaters. Combining shift work committments (Gardiner, Johnston,Torkoff,Miller) Exams this weekend (Tarini, Gauley,Ingraham) and a couple of guys with 9-5's that just can't be in our away line up on Fridays (Begley,Robinson) resulted for us bring only 11 skaters to Dundas. This is Senior Hockey... our players have lives outside of hockey and this stuff happens some nights. Some nights you get a little lucky and can stay in a game for a period or 2.. We were down 3-2 at the end of one but there was no O xygen in the tanks by mid of the 2nd and the dam broke. Well Dundas were not so lucky on Saturday 6-0 after the first period with 11 skaters but at the end only had 10 scored on them.. we looked back into the nets to find that black button 13 times.. Any way you slice it...11 skaters is hard and the affiliate rules we have in Ontario just makes it hard to bolster rosters on those nights. Do I get 4-5 Jr. C kids if their clubs give them permission. The closest Jr.A clubs for us are Huntsville,Lindsay or Newmarket and they going to let their kids play Sr. AAA NOT likely!!!
Just my Sunday morning rant.
Thanks to all the loyal fans we at ACH have and Best of the Season to you all.

Thats right at least when the teams travel in the woaa they show up with 20 skaters.Donnie should look at his own team. There seems to be alot of guys that play at home but not on the road.Maybe he should tell them what the meaning of commitment is.Alot of people should go out and watch the WOAA the talent level is gone way up and the hockey has got 100 times better. The top teams could compete and beat the teams in the OHA, on a consistent basis. Here's one for Donnie move the Real McCoys back to Rockton and join the WOAA. You would probably see a final like they did when Rockton and Delhi squared off.

Physicality is a huge part of what attracts the real fans to the game of hockey. ice capades is not hockey. Figure it out. The OHA wants to treat grown men trying to play at the highest amateur level as 12 yr old boys, and protect them from themselves it's petty sickening.
