There is no need for such a heated discussion directing comments only to Dundas Real McCoys. On Friday, the McCoys faced a shortstaffed orillia squad. We came into the rink with only 11 skaters. Combining shift work committments (Gardiner, Johnston,Torkoff,Miller) Exams this weekend (Tarini, Gauley,Ingraham) and a couple of guys with 9-5's that just can't be in our away line up on Fridays (Begley,Robinson) resulted for us bring only 11 skaters to Dundas. This is Senior Hockey... our players have lives outside of hockey and this stuff happens some nights. Some nights you get a little lucky and can stay in a game for a period or 2.. We were down 3-2 at the end of one but there was no O xygen in the tanks by mid of the 2nd and the dam broke. Well Dundas were not so lucky on Saturday 6-0 after the first period with 11 skaters but at the end only had 10 scored on them.. we looked back into the nets to find that black button 13 times.. Any way you slice it...11 skaters is hard and the affiliate rules we have in Ontario just makes it hard to bolster rosters on those nights. Do I get 4-5 Jr. C kids if their clubs give them permission. The closest Jr.A clubs for us are Huntsville,Lindsay or Newmarket and they going to let their kids play Sr. AAA NOT likely!!! Just my Sunday morning rant. Thanks to all the loyal fans we at ACH have and Best of the Season to you all. Tom Ruff Orillia Tundras I hear you snoop, i know full well what its like to have 10 skaters show up to play for you. I got no tags, had no money, the hockey talent pool come from afar to build my team (1 person from Marmora the rest Toronto, kingston, belleville etc)...so its kinda nice to see it doesn't just happen to us "nobodies"!!! It is a big commitment an owner/operator takes on and it should be reciprocated back along with respect from the players. Can anyone of these players in the ACH know where they would be playing right now if it wasn't for this league? Ratz has one point...what was with the league name change? The MLH is a long and recognized league, has Allan cup champions, competes and beats the north every year etc...I didn't understand it myself, but i imagine there is a method to someones thought. All in all, the hockey is very good in this league and once it gets past this Christmas season the game rosters will top out as well. To only be beat by 8 goals with 10 skaters against the hungry Dunlops says something as well. They love to score, love to embarrass you and love to win!

Thats right at least when the teams travel in the woaa they show up with 20 skaters.Donnie should look at his own team. There seems to be alot of guys that play at home but not on the road.Maybe he should tell them what the meaning of commitment is.Alot of people should go out and watch the WOAA the talent level is gone way up and the hockey has got 100 times better. The top teams could compete and beat the teams in the OHA, on a consistent basis. Here's one for Donnie move the Real McCoys back to Rockton and join the WOAA. You would probably see a final like they did when Rockton and Delhi squared off. cambridgehornets...are there plenty of scraps in the WOAA? Is it physical hockey? If so, i might just make a trek to watch a game.

I have great respect for the WOAA and how they operate, but your comments are interesting, based of the fact that you seen to be so well connected why don't you set up some ex games with the McCoys and we'll have a little wager ( to cover exp plus ) on the outcome half in Dundas and the other wherever you like.I don't know who you are but you seem to think you are well informed, call me to set it up 905 572 0063.. The "No Fight Rule" is mandated across all SR hockey via Hockey Canada. it was adopted here 4-5 years ago...well in advance of The Hockey Canada poor decision.

Will the OHA allow it? What refs are used? If anything comes of the game i.e major penalties, fights, injuries...who governs or accepts that responsibility?
I think its a great idea so there is a measuring stick on where the level of hockey is in for both leagues and it may help when they move forward if any of those teams want to play in the league or another newly named league at the time of expansion.
