Sounds like this could go 7...have the games been rough at all? There's been heavy hitting but not much skirmishing after the whistle or trashy BS. Its most intense & fast hockey. I know there has been some speculation that Bentley's 2012 team could be vulnerble to a speed game. I would say they did a decent job of debunking the theory this weekend. Horse Lake has plenty of quickness and the Gens' managed to show enough of their own skating to mitigate the HL advanatdge in that aspect. Goaltending has been very good for both squads. Weslosky was really hot in game 1. Especially early in the game when the Gens were trying to expand on their lead. That allowed HL to get their shit together and eventually win the game. It was wild one. Yesterday, Yonkman responded with some incredible goaltending in OT. HL has used Dudas up as a winger a great deal. He's a king pin. Derton continues to show why is so coveted...now on his 3rd team in the last few years...he is HL's top defender...and so good I think it enables Dody Wood to move Dudas up front at times.

Hi Wade; Pretty impressive comeback by your team last night in game two. I hear what you're saying about the different qualities of the two teams (imagined or otherwise). Usually makes out for an interesting series to watch, and to see just how the intricacies of one team will stack up against the other and who makes whatever adjustments in order to be last man standing when it's all over.
Re: Andrew Derton....Yes, a real solid, heady player, who the more you study the more you appreciate his overall skill level and importance to his team.
Good luck ahead. Sounds like it should continue to be a good one!

LOL @ the 760 for attendance. Who put that? There was easily over 1000. Maybe it's just me but the RD Arena only holds 2000 plus standing room and there weren't to many empty seats, but not crowded so probably 1200 to 1400 could be a closer estimate. Yea.

It might not be a bad idea for someone to clarify a complete & official overtime format. Two games in a row there was confusion and they couldn't have gotten it right because it was different both days. Hockey Canada rules state that after the 3rd period, a 10:00 minute overtime is to be played. Teams do not switch. However, under the discretion of the referee due to ice condition they CAN elect to have a flood and come back 20:00, switching ends. I asked THREE referees, all confirmed the same thing. It does not matter if one team wants to keep playing and the other does not. If the referee decides there should be a flood, then that is that.

It would seem its "us-against-the-world"... again. This series is one which will surpass many of the tournament games I've watched in various AC's over the years in every aspect.

Which means the referee didn't iterpret the rule correctly as he called for the flood and 20 but never insisted on an end switch. How it all went down almost appeared that he wasn't sure what the rule was though as everyone seemed confused by what was happening.
