Stony wins 4-3 in OT and will advance to the finals. End of the road for our squad this year.
Good luck to all clubs still playing for the AC!

Not good. I am of the mind not every "hit from behind" is a penalty...but...having not seen the infamous issue at hand, I can't comment on it specifically.
However...there is no doubt when a player goes (hard) head first into the boards play has to be instantly blown dead.
I've seen many, many SR AAA Provincial Champions over the years and one of the recurring themes is the ability to overcome multiple bad calls.
Truth.

Tough to overcome a bad call when it costs you a goal in overtime and a second bad call when the whistle goes before the shot that scores the goal and the goal is left standing. Explain how you overcome that. It's done, the game is over, the series ends. It's the kind of call that there is no coming back from because everything ends.

One of the really scary things about being one game from elimination is there are no second chances. A bad bounce/call/goal/period...whatever the case might be...and its all over but the crying. The Army is now preparing to walk that same gauntlet. I feel they've been largely responsible for the predicament they're in and its dicey at best. In regards to the SLA/Stony series...I would say SLA was less to "blame" for being down 3-0. It was mostly a case of Stonyburgh laying down some suprisingly solid play at just the right time. I never expected Blair Zahara's return to make such an impact, nor did I expect SLA to end up with the 2nd best goaltending in the series...even with all thats went down the last few weeks on a personal level. Rathjen's done a really nice job for Stonyburgh.

The thing about the Generals being in the situation they are in now, is there is no other AAA team in the Chinook league, or perhaps anywhere in the country, that can compare to the depth of player talent, coaching lineage, or playoff experience of the Bentley squad. If there's a team anywhere that can make a comeback from a 3-1 deficit, it's the Generals. However, it's a daunting task to face, no doubt.

Rathjen's done a really nice job for Stonyburgh. No question Stony came together as a team and outgunned us in SL. Zahara used his size and strength to his advantage and he's a hard man to move off the puck as well as being a power forward that can park in front of the net on a PP and cause supreme havoc. Our smaller D had a tough time dealing with him and my hats off to how he played and helped Stony. Our goaltending was OK but needed to be stellar to help shut down the Stony attack and as you well know Wade, goaltending can win or lose a series for you. Lloyd and HL each picked up goaltenders that has dramatically helped their causes. HL wouldn't be leading the series if it wasn't for a deadline Feb 10 pick up of Weslosky. But yes the last call didn't cost us the series, we cost ourselves the first 3 games, it's just a bitch to have game 4 decided by such blatant mistakes.
