Stonyburgh with a big surge in the 3rd period. They win game 2, 6-2.
Home ice advantadge tends to be forgotten about in the Mac Cup because people assume it stays in the hands of the host team.
Thats not actually the case. Technically, "home priveledges" alternate game to game & when you look close at momentum swings under this format...home ice trends favorably.
I'm betting Mikey Thompson got good match ups tonight and if they're going to get to AC2012 they will need to win at least once without the priveledges of last change & face-offs.
Game three is as good a time as any to break that barrier.

Stars
1st - Scott Drewicki/SP (four assists) 2nd - David Rathjen/SP (27 saves) 3rd - Justin Cox (one goal, three assists)
Honourable mention to Blair Zahara/SP. His hat-trick goal into the empty net came just after the three star selections were handed in. Also had an assist.

Not quite sure how you don't give a guy (Zahara) a game star when he scores 2 early goals, including the game winner, plus picks up an empty netter. Not suggesting the other 3 weren't deserving but as usual Zahar's not a flashy guy and not the best skater on the ice, he just goes out and gets the job done. Gets overlooked and under-rated a lot.

Hence the honourable mention. Could have picked five stars for Stony. Middleton had a strong game as well.
