Well...I think first of all these most recent comments from "The Pepperpot" should clear up any doubts about where all the hot air has been blowing from.
For awhile...I had (foolishly) believed Brian Sutter would stay on the high road all the way out of Bentley.
I should have known better. I really should've. Brian Sutter does not know high roads. In every heart breaking Allan Cup loss the Gens suffered under his blood-shot stare...Sutter hot trotted back to the room without even a second thought to make a handshake line-up. Sportsmanship is below him. Or...is it...above???
I was called out on this very issue a couple years back and...yes...I did my best to wrap a bow on it on behalf of my beloved Generals...but ultimatley...."thats just Sutter."
And these comments? What about it? Well...thats just Sutter.
He hates to lose. Thats a good thing. At times.
And I understand why he is pissed off.
But this? Is a low, bitter, spiteful and (arguably) illegal action has taken....which by the way...doesn't have a leg to stand on.
And what do the Innisfail Eagles think of their new coach throwing a massive gasoline bomb on a season in which they were really expecting would be more about recovery than revenge?
Not only does this suddenly place Inny into an unfair position where they're now expected to be the foot soldiers for a fight they never picked...Sutter makes it sound a lot like its actually HIS (new) players who won't be welcomed back...afterall...if there was ANY truth to his indication that he is gleening signed players from the Army roster...one has to put it together this would mean he is cutting all or most of the returnees in Innisfail, no?
So, the $64,000 question is: Who ARE these foot soldiers Sutter is brashly claiming to be taking into his waiting, outstretched arms?
Nobody seems to know. Not even Pepperpot himself...you might have noticed the gross lack of a single name to his random number partaking in a "mass exodus", eh?
Certainly there are several Gens' who would be surprised to find out Sutter wanted them in Innisfail. Given the words and behavoirs he blasted them with when the team got back into the locker room last spring.
They were all duds in his books last March.
And now? He expects them to drop an Allan Cup opportunity to go to Innisfail...and prove what exactly?
Thats another easy answer.
Clearly...Sutter has his own, selfish agenda(s) in mind going to Innisfail.
The Pepperpot has now let it all hang out. The Pepperpot is pissed off and he is thirsty for revenge. Even predicting it. Even predicting the downfall of the team he believes he built with his own powerful experiecne and talent...or so he seems to think.
What a "team guy" eh?
Good Luck with that.
The season can't start soon enough.
You can only bully a few soldiers around for so long until The Army runs your ass down, Pepperpot.

And if you thought destiny didn't have a sense of drama...guess who The Army opens their regular season against?

Whoever this Wade is, he or the rest of these guys who he stands up for really don't have a clue on what it really takes to win. Sure they barely squeezed by in 09 in 2OT but they trailed that whole game too. Having a winning season means winning your last game of the year. The Generals staff of today, Wade included, will never win another Allan Cup. From what I've heard, their managers consider themselves more important than the players and are obviously willing to sacrifice what gives them the greatest chance of winning.

From what I've heard, their managers consider themselves more important than the players and are obviously willing to sacrifice what gives them the greatest chance of winning. Morris...Your first post leaves much to be desired. Before you start telling the nation why the Gens' WON'T win another Allan Cup...why don't you take a deep breath, formally introduce yourself, explain your credentials and tell us why we should acknowledge your opinion anymore than a fart in the wind? Secondly...You've already placed yourself somewhere south of stupid by attempting to discredit the Gens' '09 Allan Cup by implying it's somehow less worthy than other championships because they didn't lead the entire game, ultimatley requiring OT to bring the big bowl home. I mean...wow...just wow. That is easily one of the dumbest, most narrow-minded and most transparent things I've ever read on this forum and there are some extremely dumb posts that appear here...but...ya...you got all of those guys beat. Hands down. The 2009 final was one of the best Championship games played in a very long time. That game had white knuckle tension from start to finish and before the Generals could secure the banner...they had to prove themselves in every single aspect... heart, skill and teams-manship. I guess its one of those times where...you have the right to your opinion...BUT...lets just say you probably shouldn't be surprised if nobody writes down what your saying and sticks it on the fridge door. And lets be clear here....The Generals didn't fire ANYONE. They made a decision to not have Brian Sutter back as coach and subsequentley THREE staff members decided they would follow Suttsy rather than stick it out on the Gens staff. Of those three people...one of them is Brian Stephenson who is a terrific guy whom I have nothing but good things to say about. Thing is...Stephenson is a life long friend of Suttsy, brought to Bentley by Suttsy and leaving Bentley with Sutter. Totally understandable. As for the other two guys...Lenzy and Biggy...It was tough to hear about how they felt. They're reacted surprisingly this summer...by deciding to leave their hometown people...(The Army)... and take up residence in the Innisfail locker room. But again...that is the choice they made. Nobody else. Loyalty anyone? I guess that depends on where a person chooses to invest such virtue. The Army is still numbered with a whole lot of fired up people who believe strongly in their team, stay true to their hometown and will support the Bentley Generals through thick and thin. Thats a big part of "what it takes to win" and we know that because thats how we won in 2009. Whether you think so or not, Morronis.

Sugar coat it all you want Wade. Mcinis will continue to tell you what you want to hear to save their mutual ass. My point is, if you would like to refer back to one of your previous posts, you like the rest of us, were led to believe in the Red Deer Advocate that it was a 'mutual' decision between management and Sutter. Mr. Sutter doesn't sound like he was too mutual about what Mcinis and Goyri had decided. So now I am really wondering if it was Sutter who was full of bullshit or the other two ? You better go check with your sources because you're not south of stupid, you're smack dab in the middle. One other point to keep you busy Wade. If you want the heartbeat of the team, perhaps you should go and interrogate some of your favorite players to see if your 'team guy' theory holds up on Sutter. Then you must question them on who they would choose to lead them into a war with or better yet, who has what it takes to win ?...Sutter and company Or Mcinis and Goiyri ? No need to take a paper and pen ! It will be unanimous on the side of the departed.
When you have finished with this little task you will look inthe mirror and say "Wow I maybe the dumbest, most narrow minded, gullible SOB to spend all this time defending these guys who have their own 'selfish agenda'

For someone who claims to have or had no ties to the Generals team, Colonel, you sure seem to have a lot of interest in this topic. 4 people made a decision, get over it and mind your own business!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the positive reply pucker. In case you didnt know, The hockey world is a fairly close knit group, in particular around Central Alberta. Pretty sure everyone between Slave Lake and Okotoks knows and has an interest in what happens around the many leagues. I know from following the AJ each year what is happening in Drayton and Brooks. You just have to know the right people and talk. As I said in an earlier post, the people I talk to in our company are the ones who talk about hockey either in Bentley or Leduc and everywhere inbetween.Friends of friends, players, fans it's not hard to find out what the truth is. maybe try for yourself before you tell the rest of us we don't know what we're talking about.

I did forget to mention Wade and Puker, after talking to my boss on Friday, I would say our sponsorship of your group is over ! Sorry, but it looks like the new AJ team here in Whitecourt will be the benefactors.

Nobody at the golf tournament last night seemed to know who "Kelly Anderson" is and nobody knows what his supposed connection or sponsorship with the Generals could be...Or...was?
I haven't the foggiest.
So, not surprisingly, his information doesn't check out.
And beyond that...
Were done here

However at the same time, not forgotten and to your credit, you left plenty of room to read between the lines that you really didn't personally approve of this particular repeated classless behavior by the coach. P.S. IMO their has been a great deal of constructive and informative posting on this forum since the end of last season. So thanks to those who spent the time.
