Been a long time since we've had a championship game where we can call it a "re-match" of a recent final.
It was only 2 years ago The Army went head to head with The Herd in the 2011 game up in Kenora.
Not sure how many returnees Clarenville has from the AC winning roster...but...no doubt this team plays the same style they used so effectivley in Kenora.
The Gens' have...at times this week...looked "tight" to me. Im almost certain the pressure & nerves have been cooking hot. I really noticed it again last night with several good scoring looks being blasted off target.
Not a built in excuse...just an observation...and their is a trade off to being a bit too hyped up to execute on offensive chances because that same adrenalin surge that can hobble your goal scoring tends to be the extra surge you sometimes need to DEFEND at the other end of the rink...so...I'll take it.
And although Clarenville has been an offensive juggernaut all week to which nobody has found a solution for....
...Im going to say that today...The Army will...finally...shut 'em down.

Nothing against the boo's but I would expect bentley to push extra hard on this one, largely fueled from their experience in kenora. I think they got the experience and the host crowd behind them and will be too much for Clarenville. They are deserved champs...

To be honest, Clarenville has been the more dynamic team this week. Going into today...they've got a 61% PP. Thats an unheard of rate of efficiency anytime of year...but...especially scary to do something like that in a tournament like this with so many solid squads. Mind you...going 6 for 5 against FSJ may have inflated that number more than a little bit. Bentley will need to be very good on the defensive side all over the rink and stay outta the box for sure! Gonna be a beauty!!!

ALMOST FORGOT.
THE GENERALS BEAT A 16,000 PERSON TOWNS TEAM YESTERDAY.
TODAY THEY HAVE TO BEAT A TEAM THAT DRAWS PLAYERS FROM 500,000+ PEOPLE IN NFLD.
BETTER BRING IT!!
HERE I SAID IT (and it will hurt!)...GO GENERALS

Should be a great game, looking forward to watch it. I'm still putting my money on the home team but the Gens better be prepared to go all out for sixty minutes and score the first goal. Two best teams in the final, that makes a great Allan Cup. Great job by the host committee.
