Was at the game. Thought McKee would get a penalty...but didn't think he'd be thrown out of the game.
Am I reading the gamesheet correctly? Did they actually give him a GM 51?
Is that an additional 2 games?

automatic gm for any hit from behind...he was just assigned a minor on the play so I do not thin k that comes with any supplemental discipline.

Hope you're right. OHF rulebook says GM51 is 2 games. I thought the same thing - 2 minutes and a match only.

if he were to get 2 games for THAT...it would be a travesty of the highest order.
It was the right call, it was a hit from behind, and a needless one, but not an overly dangerous play, and certainly with no malice behind it.

Hmmm....I believe you will want to reference Hockey Canada rulebook this week.

If it's different than the OHF, what does Hockey Canada's rulebook say Wade?
Is a GM51 not 2 games under Hockey Canada?

I just went through all 134 pages of the stupid Hockey Canada rulebook and couldn't find any reference to an automatic 2 games for GM51. They do make a distinction between a minor and a major called for CFB...and that all CFB calls involve a game misconduct. Given that McKee was only given a minor, that comes with the mandatory ejection, I just can't see him having to miss 2 additional games.

Unless he received the PIMs in the last 10 minutes of play...Jay will have to face The Army tomorrow night.
Maybe he can appeal and get himself suspended?

Too funny...I downloaded the 134 pages on my blackberry as well. Could not find it anywhere either. One would think that the hockey Canada rulebook would include suspensions.
They must have had 10 pages showing the referees signals but no mention of suspensions.

Looking at the pointstreak game sheet is confusing. There appear to be 2 separate Game Misconduct(s) on the play.
That makes no sense to me...unless the PIMs were in the last 10 minutes ...which doesn't appear to be the case...(if I'm reading the sheet correctly.)
I've also watched a replay of the check online.
Looked like a one arm shove to the middle of the back. A needless & lazy thing to do. It's always hard to grade the danger level on a play like that. I guess that's why Hockey Canada injected the rulebook with a blanket "Game Misconduct" for ALL Check From Behind PIMs.

the hit was kinda lazy, but only worthy of a minor...and I guess the automatic GM
I have it on very good authority McKee plays today.
Wade, where are you seeing on-line highlights?
