YOUR ALL GIVING THE CUP TO NFLD ALREADY THE WAY YOU ALL TALK OF THEM WITH AWE. ONE NOTE IS THEY HAVE BEEN OUTSHOT 2 OF THE 3 GAMES SO FAR EVEN THOUGH THEY WON ALL OF THEM. ASK THE LEAFS IF YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH BEING OUTSHOT OFTEN! THEY ARE TOUGH BUT BEATABLE. CHURCHILL IS GOOD BUT... DUNDAS OR KENORA WILL TAKE THEM YOU KNOW WHICH ONE IM ROOTING FOR BUT THEY ARE IN TOUGH FIRST WITH DUNDAS.

The newfs were a better team today...and are a better team on almost any day. sorry wade, but they are. this game proved it. This tournament showed us the Gennies are long on heart and experience and size. They came up short in the speed and skill department. It was not one game, they lost 3 and won one...honestly, Bentley might be the 3rd best team here...but there is a gap between the top 2 and them. Dundas are not lucky to have avoided Bentley...Bentley got beat, convincingly already by the McCoys.
Bentley could not skate with the Caribous...and I saw every game they played. They NEVER had that other gear, and were also not as skilled with the puck. Bentley played their asses off and never quit..in every game...they seem a little on the old side, and when they needed to dip into that reserve tank for a little something extra, they just didnt have it. No question having to play 5 on 5 is an impossible feat...but they also put themselves in that situation. Bentley are not in the Final because they simply were not good enough this week. They were not skilled enough to beat the smaller and fasrer Thunder, not good enough to beat th top seeded Caribous, and not physically overwhelming enough to beat the big, hard-hitting Mccoys. Bentley did beat the weakest team in the tourney, the Blast...by a goal.

Bentley did beat the weakest team in the tourney, the Blast...by a goal. Not denying/doubting any of this. But... I also think with a different schedule these Gens could've still found a way to win the tournament. And in this tournament...its half about your squad and (often) half about your schedule. Don't get me wrong...I'm not whining. But I know last years' Rosetown squad was better than the way they went out and it was ALL because of their schedule...which went against them as soon as they lost to Bentley in RR game. I think we were in a similar jam this year. Maybe we were too under-talented to have ANY shot. I got a text from a "high up guy" saying we WERE "the least talented team here" 3 days ago...so...The Gens recognized they were coming up short. They just didn't have any 'Plan B' to go to. The schedule had them if the talent didn't get them.

no question schedule means a great deal...and that is why host teams often have success. Look at the Memorial Cup for further proof of this. However, winning your pool still buys you that precious off-day during the quarters. Gens didn't win a game in the prelims...although I still believe they were not as 'earnest' with their expenditure of energy vs SEPT...but understandably so. No team has won 5 games in 5 nights at the AC, have they

The Gens went 0-2 in 2008 round robin & came back to poud both quarter & semi-final opponents...but...nothing left for Brantford in the Final that year.

Wanted to see Bentley play so I went to this game first then stayed for the Kenora game. Good game. Both teams were so intense it was a great game to watch. And I think the fan support for both teams was equally divided.
