it is MUCH easier to get (buy?) the commitment SEPT do for a week a year, rather than a full time commitment Maybe. But my point is that SEPT...won the 2015 Allan Cup despite playing most of the week with a short bench & some of the missing guys were very good players, too. All SR AAA teams play games with short benches/missing top players. It's not remotely exclusive to ACH teams in the Allan Cup nor is it unheard for ACH teams to be missing players in their own league games. They do it all the time, actually. Just like everyone else.

Has Adam Henrich actually played these 2 games or was he too costly to bring in? Just wondering as he hasn't hit the scoresheet yet.

After souring the Brantford cool aid he has taken some time off on humanitarian grounds. He felt bad about the damage done to the blast fragility. Little late now I guess but what ever happened to the NHL'er that you were rumoring for Brantford not too long ago?

Which player was that? I never rumoured anyone but had a wishlist. Turns out no one added the player in mind.
The Henrich comment was aimed at the one who indicated Prpic and Stephens were absent despite scoring in playoffs.
Regardless, I knew either team would be in tough vs Stoney Creek and without all players available it is impossible.

Well the impact player I hinted at last season has signed with Dundas. Kudos to them - F Darren Haydar is a huge addition for them with a bit of NHL experience, AHL championships, AHL scoring title, Hockey News AHL Player of the Decade and Spengler Cup player.
Dundas may be a team to watch now with their goaltending and the usual late D additions of MacMillan and Dalmao likely I would think.

I wonder if Jeff White, a teammate of Haydar's on some powerhouse junior teams in the late 90s had a hand in the signing.
I'm aware of another player that would offer a huge impact but we'll see if or where he ends up playing.

Keep an eye on Darren Haydar...he may well be the biggest and best name Donny has pulled out of the ether in several years.

Yes Jim he will be a treat to watch for senior hockey fans regardless. I was lucky to see him play a lot in juniors.
He had the misfortune of missing the small skilled player model for today's NHL by a few years. Seen as an elite scorer without the size he was never given a true NHL shot.
This is precisely the type of player that I figured could be enticed to play senior hockey. He likely made a great living playing hockey but not the level of an NHL regular who may not have an interest in continuing to play.
I will make a bold prediction and say IF Haydar plays regularly this season he has a legit shot at the league scoring title. I am saying that in all seriousness, that's how good I figured he'd be at this level and may be the finest senior player seen in a while in Ontario with the open high scoring style of play he should provide a lot of offence.

Seems like a big stretch to instantly assume he's going to play a majority of games.
Keep in mind...given the amount of roster space SR AAA teams are at leisure to utilize, there is little hesitation to sign a highly regarded player such as Haydar...even just as a 1-2 game expierement...or...sign him under an established understanding he will be playing with limited availability. Or...as we've seen ACH teams do in the past...sign a player regardless of the fact he's already stated he WON'T be playing in an Allan Cup tourney, should his team qualify.
Now...with all of that said...I THINK Darren Haydars' signing would've required an International Transfer & I THINK those are quite expensive for a SR AAA team to incur. So, I might also assume Donny would be somewhat comfortable with whatever investment he's made.
At any rate...nice to see Dundas not visibly rolling over and allowing the Lieutenants' to dominate...

The other helpful thing is he is still in hockey shape, playing competitively in Europe last season.
Game shape may be another thing, but I think a player of that calibre get sup to speed pretty quickly...you dont lose your hands

Looks like his last year was 2 winters ago in Austria...but...I wouldn't expect his conditioning to be an issue. A small framed athlete like him...probably doesn't fall apart in a calendar year away from PRO hockey. Might be more likely he's already in better shape than most of his new teammates.

Haydar has been off for a season and a half now. I would have to think he may have had a shot at the Canadian Olympic team this winter had he continued to play.
I saw him around locally in the summer of 2016 and he looked to be in great shape at that time.
