Up next on the agenda, Halloween weekend! The only thing spooky about this is that the Allan Cup hosts are making their first appearance in Alberta this season, after two dominating wins over the Fort Sask Chiefs.
Following an 0-4 start to the season, the Chiefs are looking to bounce back on the road and find their groove against a very good Stony Plain team in a Saturday evening match-up. The second matchup of the night will be a great one, with the visiting Rosetown Red Wings taking on the defending Chinook (ACHW) Hockey League champs, the Lacombe Generals. The Generals have had a terrific start to the season, outscoring their opponents 14-4, however, they'll be in tough against a stacked Red Wings roster who are not looking shabby in their own regard, scoring 12 goals and only allowing 4 in their first two regular season games.
Moving to Sunday we see the second half of the home and home with Stony Plain visiting Fort Sask at 2:15pm. Rosetown swings down to Innisfail to visit the Birds for a 5pm start, thus concluding their first Alberta road trip of the season. The Eagles are looking to rebound after a tough loss to their namesake rivals in Stony Plain this past weekend, while they are currently sitting in 4th place with a 1-2 record.
After two weeks of play, we've got our current standings, leading scorers, and top goaltenders. Expect to see a similar trend throughout the season, with high scoring games highlighting the box scores so far.
