From what I hear on media is that the WJ looks like it could be cancelled. Anyone else hearing anything, don't want to book flight, only get credit vouchers.

I can't see it going ahead. I highly doubt we'll see any international play (or even national play, for that matter) at least until late 2021.

From what college/university programs and junior programs are saying in the US and Canada I think Scooter is right. Junior teams operate from pay to attend "tryout" training camps, sponsorships, and ticket revenue. With the current circumstance you will likely only be able to have 20% capacity at most in the rinks, many businesses are closed and not making money and don't have money to put out advertisements right now. The Canada/US border is closed so no import players going either way. That is going to seriously lower the level of American collegiate play as many teams are loaded with Canadian players.
Any league that is not based off of a tuition or playing fee is going to have a hard time even being able to start up except maybe for Major Junior or Canadian University play if they can get good television deals to broadcast all of their games, because the NHL is going to be very late starting back up for the 2020-21 season . Especially if the present season goes into August and people are going to want live sports.

OHL season is going ahead in december...that leaves a faint glimmer of hope, but nothing has been announced.

The IIHF is suppose to make their decision sometime in the next month or so regarding international play. It will be tough to do the World Junior Hockey Championship with no fans, but that's something that is being looked at. World Juniors

Confirmed the tournament will be a go this year. It will be a single bubble in Edmonton. Not sure what that means for any national tournaments in 2021, but I imagine we will know before the end of October. Edmonton 2021 and 2022

Despite everything going on this tournament is a go. Pre-tournament games get underway today and the round robin portion of the tournament starts on Christmas Day. 2021 IIHF WJC Broadcast Schedule
