Quite a series this has turned out to be.
Its impossible to "read the tea leaves" to figure out whats been happening based on the box scores. Ive read past posters attempting to do this in various series' which I have watched and the experience taught me...if your not there to see it...you really can't begin to guess from a scoring summary.
Too bad my work schedule is so tight between now and AC week. I'm sure I am missing a great battle between these teams.
I would like to know how this scrubby Stony squad has managed to generate as much scoring as they have through 5 (+1) games against Weslosky.
Stony Plain is underrated. I figured out that much when they tore past SLA in round one.
But...thats not to say they're as offensivley prolific as Bentley...or even Fort Sask for that matter.
Nope.
These Eagles are seeing something the previous HL opposition did not.
And I can see them winning the 2012 Alberta banner despite the heartbreaker suffered today in game six.

When Cox and Zahara are rolling in the same game good things happen for Stony. Zahara only had 1 assist Friday and nothing Sunday. Cox had nothing Friday but 3 points Sunday. Friday Stony lost 4-1 and Sunday it goes to DOT. I know you can't hang your hat on a couple of players but it's interesting to see how Stonys fortunes follow Cox and Zahara. The surprise is affiliate goaltender Wade Waters doing a decent job between the pipes, although, if theres a stopper that's seen rubber flying his way in the last couple of years, Waters has seen plenty.

This Stoney team Is playing the HL team without their coach, maybe that has something to do with it. Just finished out coaching Sutter. I guess he was allowed to watch game 6. Long as he sat there with an adult and behaved himself. Not sure if he was allowed to cheer for his team, might have looked like hand signals. (bit of sarcasm) Now I understand why you don't agree with much of anything they do. Like you said the game is played on the ice.

Ah! Of course.
The series is going 7 games because your coach is suspended.
And here I was looking for something sensible to explain it all.
My mistake.

No worries.. Kinda makes sense hey.
As far as going 7 games, well noone will ever know.
Sometimes it doesn't require rocket science.
What's the difference in HL from 2 series prior?? Hmmm they had their coach.
Ya, no need to make up any kind of theory.

Hypothetically speaking....If their coach has not cost them game one of the series and never been suspended...do you feel HL would have SWEPT Stonyburgh?

Wade, HL coach did not cost them game one by any means. Yes, I do and think others would agree that if HL had more discipline from the direction of the coach being on the bench that this would have been a completely different series. Players are there to play and coaches are there to coach...Do you think Bentley would have the same outcome without Sutter on the bench??

I hear Kip Nobel is hurt and Andrew Derton is either hurt or suspended. That would put a hole in HSL's defense. If these two can't play the edge could go to Stoney.

Latter was also out and Jackson is suspended for the series. Huge hole in defense.

Noone will ever know Wade..
Derton is back, Later is suspended 1 game i believe, Jackson 1 more game. Kip played last game and seemed fine, might have had a bit of the flu.
Heard Lakovic might make his first appearance of the series on Sat. Maybe even some more fresh faces. Guess we`ll have to wait and see.
