Good luck to the semi finalists today on a good Friday for hockey.I will be at the Kenora vs Dundas game tonight which should be a hard fought battle for a championship berth. The first game I would think the Clarenville team has now jelled into a strong unit considering they have 8 or 9 top players from their league on the bench.I do not know if Bently added players but if I were choosing an Allan Cup winner ,I think it would be the team from the east.

Bentley has not added any players. For the 2nd straight tournament, they're dancing ONLY with the ones that brought them.
I got a text this morning comparing the 2014 Clarenville club to the 2004 St George Garaga.
Scary thought.
The Army is in very tough today.

this highlights the need for change at this level. people may not like that the caribou organization added affiliate players, but they are playing by the current rules. senior hockey is struggling, this was done in my opinion to enhance this tournament. no doubt clarenville is strong and they come from one of the most active leagues in the country

The Generals didn't bring any affiliates.
The Bous' CHOSE to bring affiliates.
Let's be real.

In fact, of the 6 teams in the tournament...Clarenville is the only team supplementing their regular roster.

Clarenville, to me, is the team to bat...sick offensive talent and depth...unbelievable mobility and toughness on D
and Churchill is head and shoulders above any other tender in this series.

That's pretty much in line with the messages I've been getting all week.
Sounds like they've combined all the top teams/players from their club team with a hand picked list from the rest of the league.

Just a question Wade...and I don't know the anwser....but is the league that your Army play in made up of ALL AAA teams?

Next year, were expecting it will (again) be all SR AAA.
This year, of the 5 teams, 4 were "AAA".

they have 8 affiliates including backup goalie and picked players from 3 of the 5 other teams. scary thing is they could have been better the mvp/top scorer from the nlshl couldn't make the trip

So basically you only had 1 team that was AA to pick from...was there any players on that AA team able to replace anyone on your Army?

Yip. It would be a big deal if they were to get nipped by little old Bentley today

The Generals could have picked affiliates from ANY SR AA team in Alberta. It has nothing to do with leagues.
They've filled a couple of their 9 Affiliate allotments but none of the APs are in Dundas at the moment.

Good Luck to Bentley, I know you will give it your best shot. Use the good old fashion TRAP. The Newfies hate that. Do the Pacific Region proud.
