I got home from a senior game in Ontario on Sunday night. That's right....Ontario....I think it's north of Niagara Falls somewhere. I immediately tuned into Moose F.M. hoping to find out the latest from the epicenter of the world. Unfortunately the feed here in the third world faded just near the end. I don't know if rinkratz has turned everyone into pussy cats after a day of bickering, but the forum is empty, hollow, so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Would someone from the epicenter please tell us easterners what happened tonight. We are not going to be able to sleep until we know Please.....anyone.....please help.....we are desperate!!!!!

Bentley won 5 - 1, Galenza played in goal again for Bentley. I wasn't at the game just saw score on Chinook web site, and heard 5 min of second on Moose.

Nuts and bolts version....
Bentley was better.
Bensmiller's played in their second game of the day going 2-0.
Bentley's top line finally got it going. And everyone was committed to keeping the puck out of the net.
FSJ put pressure on throughout the 2nd and 3rd, but couldn't put one in until early in the 3rd. The commitment to defense was the biggest factor in the win.

You can keep up to date with what is happening by following @sylvanlakesraaa on twitter. That person is the coach and GM of the Sylvan Lake Admirals and he is updating the score, as it happens, live from the games.
That being said, Bentley won tonight, they deserved to win. They had a couple of beautiful tic-tac-goals in front of the Flyers net that found the top shelf.
I would say that the Flyers knew in the third that they had lost, or were going to lose. Based on the fact that their Goalie, Pool was pulled and their backup, Hunt in to play, part way through the third.
So yeah, game 5 goes tomorrow night. It's to the wire. THIS is what hockey is all about!

I hope i wouldnt be the cause of a lack of discussion here, it is usually good info and interesting banter.....I wish both the fort and the army good luck in game 5 ...I just love it when one team feels dominant and overconfident then finds themselves in a fight...ie Whitby supposed to sweep Norwood, and Dundas with all their "pedigree" players getting pushed hard by the same hard working bunch of lads......makes for good hockey and good stories.
However, when I see the chance to pull someones chain, I'll yank that bugger every f'n time

There are a myriad of means to keep track of scores in this series. A few different Twitter feeds and chinookhockeyleague.com posts the full scoring summaries, usually within one hour of completion. It could take longer to get a summary tonight. I have a night shift scheduled. I will have to slide into work a couple hours late tonight. Last night was lots of fun. With 1700 in the stands...the Gens delivered right on time. Unlike the 2 previous games, the times when FSJ was pressing...the Gens buckled down and won puck battles, blocked shots, PK'ed and made plays. And. Of course: Galenza made saves. Several. It wasn't easy and even though I did predict a sweep, I never expected it to be easy and I am certainly not surprised were going to the full five games to figure out the Pacific Reigon Representative. It all comes down to tonight. These two teams are each gutty and proud. They have traded air miles over the last 5 years, travelling red eye, to roll into the other teams barn and get it on like Donkey Kong. FSJ is the younger and healthier team. They are the defending champions. The Bentley Generals are dramatically depleted. Down to the last drop of blood, or sweat or tear. After game 3, The Army needed an emotional lift and the Bensmiller boys rode into town just minutes prior to face off. I think this and the seemingly one sided way the game was called has sealed the fortitude factor around the Good Old Army Fortress. They are in this together and they will fight with all they can muster tonight.

I THOUGHT THE BENSMILLERS WOULD ARRIVE BY TANK OR AT LEAST A CHUCK WAGON

I THOUGHT THE BENSMILLERS WOULD ARRIVE BY TANK OR AT LEAST A CHUCK WAGON I didn't think they would arrive at all. They played the SR AA semi-final in Provost at 1300HRS DST start time yesterday. Its a solid 3.5HRS + from Provost to Red Deer. Buddy Bensmiller must have dropped the reins in the wagon box and let the runaway go all the way westward!

Word is that Haarstad is back in the lineup tonight ! If little 'Haarsty'' were nothing but a pail of spilled guts and grey matter, his last request would be for to be spilled into the Flyers crease so he could grease the scoring area for his Army one last time. So here we are, another winner takes all game between these two rivals!Who will step up and be the hero for each team? Will it Be Galenza after a stellar performance in game 4...or will it be Pool's turn?Im gonna have to stick with my original prediction and say the Flyers will prevail in game 5!After being pulled in game 4, Pool will rise above and play his best game of the series and the top line of Stevens, Stevens and Daniels will light the lamp! But no matter who wins, it's been another amazing series between these 2 teams...

The Gens have some guys who have been good all series long.
They have some others who have gotten better as the series has progressed.
All told...Its a deep list of people who will deliver contributions tonight.
Its been a wild series.
Experience and poise will shine through for the home team tonight.

I had to fight back some tears, reading through this classic thread from 2011.
This was the the fifth and final Mac Cup Series between The Army and the Fort St John Flyers.
For those of us who loved & lived it…It was the best rivalry SR AAA hockey ever had in the modern era.
All told, tens of thousands of tickets were sold, legends were born. And legends laid out cold as well.
One of the Armys’ all time most loved players was Tyler Haarstad. He passed away this summer. We miss him dearly.
But I remember “Harsty” in this series. He was badly injured but refused to stay out of the line up.
He played Game 5 of this Series with a fire that I’ll never forget.
Rest In Peace, Tyler. But if there happens to be a hockey rink in Heaven…give ‘em Hell one more time for The Army.

Innisfail did a great job with the fundraiser for his kids. Nearly $40k or something around that mark. Amazing to see a community and teams come together to support a fallen soldier.
