Well for all of you whiners in FSJ, there is a reason that Coach Sutter did what he had to do. The reason and only reason is Mike Vandekamp. None of you really know the history of that little two-faced piece of s&!7. The man behind the FSJ bench has been banished and told to never come back from countless respectable hockey organizations in BC. Just ask ! As far as the other two twits behind their bench, if they really think that part of coaching is chirping at the opposing team non-stop, then perfect I hope they are there next year because thats all they are capable of anyway. The one thing Sutter was quoted saying after the 2009 series was that he would take Todd Alexander on his team any day. I tend to agree. As far as the rest of the Junior 'C' plugs, Keep 'em, and for Gods sake find some more ice-time for Adam Brash!

Colonel and Wade I really try to follow along with your points but when you get your facts wrong you loss me. Sutter is quoted on audio as saying that he would go to war with the Flyers any day and in 09 he sent his assitant coach over to the Flyers room to tell them how hard they had battled, however his tune seemed to change in 2010 when the Flyers beat the Generals since then he wants no part of shaking hands. You have to at least give the Generals President, GM and Beagle credit for coming out and shaking hands. As for Vandekamp he is one of the top coaches in Jr A hockey and has just accepted the Coach/GM job with Kelly Hrudy's Nanamio Clippers. It doesn't say much for the Generals if Todd Alexander and a bunch of Junior C plugs came within one bounce of beating them...give your head a shake Colonel. The only person the other 2 Flyers bench personel said anything too was you because you like to beak your up it the stands when the team came off!

Yep, because Flyers fans are all just so damn classy too!
I know a few chirpers and stuff, shouldn't speak for a whole team. But don't play that card. I remember last year in FSJ, these "fans" were inconsiderately blasting their aerosol can horns in our ears and faces, constantly where it came to the point I had to grab one of their horns and hang onto it until I got them agree to quit blasting them in my face.
Also I know a guy who was involved with the front office work of the BCHL's Westside Warriors, he too would tell you negative things about Vandekamp, so Colonel isn't exactly bluffing his words.

Bottom line is win or lose after it's all over even if you hate the other team or the coach you shake hands!! For you guys to defend Sutter for not doing it goes to show that you have the attitude that "Bentley can do no wrong"!

Look guys & i wasn't at the series but...i will bet the reason Sutter didn't shake anyone's hand was because the trash talking going on went beyond some 'unwritten boundaries' & there was no etiquette used by the Flyers. If this did happen, i wouldn't shake anyone's hand either....& neither would you Flyer fans if you had the same thing happen to you. I strongly believe that Sutter must have had a good reason not to shake hands.

For you guys to defend Sutter for not doing it goes to show that you have the attitude that "Bentley can do no wrong"! You came on here questioning a very highly respected mans character and you demanded an explanation for his behavior. I think you should be thankful anyone attempted to find an explanation in the first place. Secondly, It seems to me the explanation you eventually did get (via Colonel) is a good one. I think Mikey 'V' is a smart hockey mind. I can see how FSJ figured he was a helpful fit for them. But to be honest...I would think as soon as you guys started asking questions about Sutter's choice to NOT shake hands...the first thought most of us had was..."Well I wonder what the hell they did to piss him off?" I knew it wouldn't have been the way the series was played or the way the tournament games went last year. Sutter rarely reacts to even the cheapest, nastiest fouls on his players and I can't say he would never encourage his own guys to do the same...like I said before...'He's old school.' Its evident Sutter has a problem with Vandekamp...he hasn't said anything publically (classy on his part). He only decided not to shake hands with the man. Its not like he walked up to him and drilled him in the yap with a right cross. Seems to me Sutter was hoping the whole thing would be kept on the down low and it would have been until FSJ chose to bring it up.

Ok that's fine if he has a issue with Vandekamp, so don't shake his hand, show the respect to the rest of the team and shake their's...simple!You guy's talk about "bush league"well in my opinion this is bush league.Everyone battles to the end and hates the other team, but when it's all over u still might hate them but u repsect them as opponents. It's just like us bickering back and fourth on these site before and during the games, but after we all agree both team played hard and we give credit where credit is due...

I can see your point about shaking everyone else's hand. But...How is that going to come off when Sutter pulls his hand back from Vandekamps'? Vandekamp gets pissed about it and asks 'WTF' and then what? Then everyone sees a specific target being snubbed and wants to know the story. Sutter really just did what he is supposed to do in this situation, which is: "If you don't have anything nice to say, just walk away and go have a whiskey with the boys."

My question would be does Sutter shake hands with other teams after a series or is this just axthing he has got going with the Flyers the last few years? As has already been explained, this is an axe Sutter has to grind with Mike Vandekamp. And to answer your question (again): Yes, he always shakes hands with the other team. Matter of fact...there have been numerous times in the past where he goes out of his way to compliment opposing teams & players. Just as recent as last years Allan Cup, he went, by himself, into the Clarenville Caribous room and addressed their team personally.

Last point for me on this issue. Sutter hasn't shook the Flyers hands for the last 3 yeas yet he shook Vandekamps hand last year...so much for your explaination!

Well, why do you think he doesn't shake the players hands? I have already told you he shakes the hands of players/personnel on other teams and 'colonel' has explained Sutter has a problem with Coach Vandenkamp and your still telling me it doesn't jive! Do you think your team has done something else to piss Sutter off? If so, what? Or... Do you think Sutter is an asshole? If thats the case...I think its gutless your here saying it, rather than saying it to his face when you had the chance.
