"MLH" - where did you hear this from? Just rumours in the crowd or from someone associated with the Blast.
I find it hard to believe. Of all the 17 or 18 Senior teams registered as "AAA", and maybe not including the 2 Nfld teams, I would hazard to guess that the Blast have the highest average attendance in Canada. And have you seen the # of sponsors they have plastered all over the arena?
Not a good sign for Senior hockey across the whole country if the Brantford franchise were to fold due to attendance...which again why I would find it hard to believe.
Lastly, I've read the official twitter posts of Whitby and Norwood and both mention "looking forward to next season".
Hope someone "in the know" -ie Don Robertson, or someone from Brantford can comment.

Some people have too much time on their hands. I'm sure by May ACH fans will be pleased with how things unfold. Cheers Don Robertson

Thanks for the response Don.
Why start a thread like this. Joesnugg-I also go to both arenas. Both the Blast and McCoys draw well.
I said aside from the Nfld teams Brantford draws the largest crowds.
And even wade mentioned in another thread that Bentley only draws 300-400 tops during the year.
So, again, the Blast look healthy to me and do likely have the highest average attendance. Looking forward to 2015-16 already. And going to games at the Civic Centre and Market St Arena.
PS-Don, now you'll have us all wondering what you mean by everyone will be "pleased"...any new teams?

The Army wouldn't have averaged over 1000 fans with all these games factored. Innisfail would be CHL's top attendance average for the past season. I'd ballpark it around 800.

Brantford can't help the Civic Centre holds 3000. The Blast draw great crowds and from what I see have great sponsorship. I think we all agree that we'd like them to stay...and hope the league can expand.....not contract. Agree?

Personally...I think...the ACH is better off sticking with the existing make-up than expanding. Expansion teams are...as a general rule...dicey enterprises...tending to cause more harm than good. Ideally...the current bottom end teams of the ACH confirm that they're able to not only continue operations...but...improve without taking anything away from the upper echelon clubs. If this is what can happen...it's about all you can ask.

A minimum of 6 teams is actually ideal. 4 of 5 teams making the playoffs is tough. Makes the reg season more interesting.

I guess if you really think it's possible to have 6 strong teams in a semi-central area...then yes...why not add a team? Or 2? I don't even see 5 right now.

Stoney Creek have been a 'successful' expansion team...they are viable and competitive.
could certainly use a couple more, but man, I do not see where.

What you CAN'T have: Is another repeat of the Welland tragedy.
I think...give Norwood & Stony Creek more time to establish roots.
