There was a game in Brantford last night, and a pretty dam good one too! Dundas McCoys- 5 Brantford Blast- 4
And apparently there was a full moon in Norwood last night. Oh and by the way, just as an aside, the score was Dunnies- 5 Vipers- 2

Was at the game...if the Blast had a half decent goalie, by the second period the Real McCoys would have been out of it.

Naitch not sure what you were watching but the Brantford goalie played very well if they had a better run bench they maybe would have won, and to add the shitty ref gave them every chance in the world to win also.

Oh and by the way, just as an aside, the score was Dunnies- 5 Vipers- 2 That's what happens when Mackeller's not there taking up 35 minutes of ice. The rest of the squad finally get a chance to show there talent:) Norwood has 2 games remaining with Orillia and will have to win both to have any chance at tieing or getting ahead of Orillia. if Orillia wins or ties one or both it pretty much cinches Norwoods fate . It will be what games that either team can steal from Whitby, Brantford or Dundas that will tell the tale. 8 games remains and 500 hockey wont cut it from her on in!!

Yes Curtis, except for 1st, when everyone appeared rushing to reach the bottom, it was tight. Now that everyone is trying to move up-wards it is still very tight! Any chance you attended in Norwood last night, and might have any comment on the full moon effect (shenanigans) that took place? Looks like it should be an exciting final month of the schedule. Fans should get out, and bring their friends too! P.S. Curtis, I know you like to be out there ahead of pack, but setting your forum time clock one hour ahead is just unfair advantage.... even Wade doesn't do that xoxoxo

Well isn't that a big surprise. When my friend and I first looked at the game sheet late Fri. night, we both said it looked like another Mr. Brown fiasco. Didn't post that thought because we weren't there, but put out the inquiry to see what might come in. Thanks for answering calhoon. Some things never change. The guy really should just quit, while he is way behind. ( To be fair we should make it clear, the referee that we are referring to is "Steve" Brown, not any other Brown.)

Fans should get out, and bring their friends too! No sorry minzie i wasnt there. Calhoon just went south and i'll bet he"ll be heatin up the south after that game friday night. Suposedly"clown" (who we will now refer to so as to not include every other Brown name) was patting the whitby boys butts, laughing and all the while targeting them norwood guys. Whitby was intentionally trying to injure players and clown allowed it. All that bullshit in the second was caused by clown losing control . Then only 2 penaties in the third? way to get er done clown. let him ref a tyke game... bring him back down to earth. About the same mentallity. ( at this time i appologize to every tyke player for the last comment)! Reminds me of a couple beauties they sent around a few years ago...Meyers, brooks...they should have left them at peewee to improve. This last month will prove to be a goodie munzie. Its all about defence an goalies from here on. Lets hope clown is reffing the last game the vipers and dunlops will see each other in the season. No sense in changing the dynamics now. Clown has whitby in his pocket along with the leaders in cambridge...where he gets his orange hair, red nose and boots issued to him along with his cracker jacks whistle...what a clown!!! P.S. Curtis, I know you like to be out there ahead of pack, but setting your forum time clock one hour ahead is just unfair advantage.... even Wade doesn't do that xoxoxo Sorry munzie, im still a hillbilly farmer/ hunter on dialup, if the computer cant do it on its own, im out of luck:).

I was watchin the same game you were. The Blast have the weakest goaltending in the league. Every other team has keepers that can steal a game...Blast do not. I agree Thomas played OK but nothing like Maund provides for the Real McCoys. At least the Blast are starting to play Thomas over Leggatt.

Firstly, I was just Pointstreaking the games on Friday but will try to intrepret what the gamesheet reflects on calhoun's concerns about the 3 penalties for leaving penalty box. As far as I can tell there were actually 2 penalties called in this instance. 1. a minor for not leaving penalty box at end of period as directed by referree and then 2. a double minor for being the first to leave penalty box for the fight. for the total of 6 minutes. YES a double whammy...or actually a TRIPLE WHAMMY. Sometimes, we blame the officials when the "spirited" extracirrculars occur. and in the next breath when there is a traffic jam in the sin bin blame them for calling the game like girl's ringette. Having been a football official at the OVFL level, from experience..there are some night's you wish the players would just play the game and you could leave the whistle in the pocket...but RULES are RULES.

Tom Ruff Orillia Tundras Hello Tom.....Your possible explanation of the three minors to one player is interesting and may well be the case. We had a healthy discussion on here last year, in which I expressed that I thought the level of officiating was much improved and consistent, (with one glaring exception), over what had been for the couple of years previous. That exception was Steve Brown who culminated his senior MLH season with an unforgettable and unforgivable performance in the Norwood/ Whitby semi-final playoff series. I have watched and or followed him for a while. He may well be a fine person and possibly a fine referee at some other levels or in some other leagues. Of that I do not know. However it's my opinion as a fan that Steve Brown and MLH/ACH just don't mix well, and so I'll just stick with my firm opinion that it would be a good thing if he were to quit from working these games. While we are on the the subject, I'm sure some folks this year are scratching there heads some nights, myself included. Dispite that, with the game in such a state of transition on how it is to be played (for better or worse), I can imagine it is not an easy chore for the officials or the players or coaches. So whether we some times may like it or not, given the envirenment, I'd have to think "it is was it is" and on balance the men in stripes are doing not bad. It will be interesting to see where this whole transition of the game turns out, and what the appeal for the game will turn out to be, when all is said and done.
