Interesting....I see the Mustangs are just begining the Sask/Alta Final do you think the Generals will be getting Bensmiller in as many games as possible and does Dewberry have anyone else that Bentley may use?

They can only use Benny for 5 (or 6?) games while Dewberry is still going. But I definatley think we'll see him for at least a couple games in the Alberta Finals.
Alberta 'AA' Provincials over-lap with the Mac Cup this year. Just another thing to keep in mind...for whomever wins Alberta.
Fort Sask is AP'ed with Daysland and they appear headed for another Provincial berth as well. Not sure Hockey Alberta was thinking very far ahead when they slotted 'AA' Provincials on these dates.
The Gens have used a handful of Dewberry players this year. A couple of defencemen + a goaltender (emergency back-up). I don't expect these guys to get much ice time here for the remainder of our run. They're decent players who could help if injuries pinch the depth....but...The Gens have only ever 'REALLY' leaned on affiliates in 2008. Other than that....they run with the 25 horses they signed during the season. This will be the case again this spring. Kurt Bensmiller being the exception. I still shake my head in amazement on what a sweet find he proved to be.
Brian Sutter is known as an 'NHL Coach'...but....all six Suttters' have invested epic amounts of time into scouting and networking as well. Brian knew about Kurt Bensmiller's hockey prowess back when Benny was playing in the SJHL. That had everything to do with the fateful moment when we first signed with Dewberry.
This 2011 edition of The Army is different than past clubs. With Cabana coming in here this year, they now have a top level right handed shooter to play the wing. It creates an entire new dimension on the PP and really opens up the ice for a 360 degree attack. The end result is...we don't see the team relying so heavily on 'garbage goals' anymore. They are now able to attack off the rush, run complicated x-ice passing plays and pinch defencemen deep into the O zone at their discretion. It makes for some beauty snipes and its fun to watch.
You might think its 'un-Sutter-like'. However, keep in mind....it was Brian Sutter running the St Louis Blues the seaon when Brett Hull sniped 86 goals. Sutter knows about offence as much as he does defence.

I would agree that so far i believe the pacific region looks the strongest. I also wouldnt be surprised however if they would be upset by Southeast or Dundas. Time will tell

Time will tell Dundas could have won the 2010 tournament with a couple of bounces going there way. The Gens elimiated them in but it was an excellent game. The Mcoys have been in amongst the top 3 or 4 teams for a few years now and it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone if they go all the way this time around. SEPT didn't have quite the same success in FSJ. They ran out of fuel in the semi-final loss to FSJ. A full roster will remedy that...and then some...so...here again...nobody is going to be caught off guard by this club.

The Host team usually has a huge advantage but when was the last time a first year team at the AC won the Championship. I think Bentley and Dudas will be in the final with Dudas winning. They have been one of the top teams in the nation for awhile and they are playing close to home. Should have all their healthy players available. Will need great goaltending. Good luck to all the teams involved, have a great time. Wish I could be there.

i am a dundas fan because i like the names and wealth of experience they bring to the tourney... my problem with them the last few years though has been that they always look old and tired and somehow manage to come up short all the time. we will see this time around

Thanks for the reminder Wade. I am pulling for your squad but think that this is Dundas's year.

Where is Wade? He has been pretty quite on this board. He must be in Kenora. Maybe he has moved on to twittering. Big win for Bentley last night, bad loss for Dundas, with a goal at the 19:59 mark of the third period.

Dundas came up with a big win when they needed it. Four players added to the roster and great goaltending really helped. Another four players would help them make a run for the Cup.
