Uh oh. Looks like the Army should surrender. From this vantage point they are the weakest team in the tourny...now 2-0 SEPT

THIS GAME MEANS SQUAT FOR BENTLEY SINCE THEY LOST THE FIRST. THEY PLAY EVERY DAY NOW. NEVER COUNT THEM GUYS OUT TOO EARLY! SAME FOR THE THISTLES. THEY WILL KNOCK OFF SE FOR YOU SOON ENOUGH!

Wade - Give me the breakdown on this one when its over.
I know you don't hold a crystal ball, but how do you figure Bentley and SEPT will hold up against Brantford and Kenora from what you have seen?

At the game. Now 3-1. To many in the arena, time has passed the Bentleys. They do not have "first" line type players. Many bangers and muckers but no one who carries the play. All 3rd and 4th line types.
It was mentioned that Stefanishion would help. My God, he's a big boy but slow as molasses. Good shot but if he's your saviour....Bentley is in more trouble than we think. He scored on a 5 on 3 but not overly impressed...although he has a good shot....
Easily the slowest team here as jimc mentioned yesterday.
Usually you see a player who stands out offensively but they just don't have those types of players.
Maybe time for the Sargent to find some younger Army "recruits". It's not over and they may still surprise but in my opinion, they just don't have any firepower.
The only good news is Brantford lost their goalie today. Word is Leggat may be out of the tournament. If that is the case, maybe they have a chance in the quarters....but not a chance in hell against Clarenville or Dundas.

Good analysis Allan Cup. Funny we were saying the same thing. The Bentleys hang onto the puck as they just don't seem to have that offensive surge.
We also were saying that no one stands out.
With Brantford it's Prpic or Spurr. South East has #14 Dudar, Kenora has Richards, the Caribous have many like Campbell, Roach, Gallant. And Dundas has Smith, Christie, Stewart. I couldn't name one Bentley player who has done one thing offensively that stands out in my head.
All I keep thinking is that Weller and Sheen just try to mix it up but end up in the box.

what is Bentley missing for players?
Why did SEPT split shift in net?

Goalie got hurt. He stopped the referee and asked to see a trainer. He went to the bench and did not return. They put Christie in for the rest of the game.

Marshall is not a terrible option for Bfd...he is a very capable b/u.

I'm not in Dundas, jing-jang. I can't offer much comment on how the games have turned out the way they have.
I can tell you, Bentley has fired 68 SOG through 2 games and they've for just 3 tucks to show for it.
As for the harsh statements laid upon The Army in this thread...it's funny how so much insight & judgement comes from people who've seen the squad no more than twice all year.
First of all...if I actually tallied the average ages of each team in the tournament...it's a strong bet Bentley would be toward the "young" side of the result. They've actually been getting more youth & speed in the line-up for 2 years now.
They've also been a huge target for the past 2 years & it's evident their Allan Cup opponents are well prepared for the challenge. Kudos all around to both Dundas & SEPT for impressive wins on both RR games.
The Gens aren't missing anyone, jing-jang. The whole gang is on duty.
They've got a couple of guys who I will garuntee have the wheels to make plays. Bailey wouldn't be getting out-skated by anyone. That's for sure. Shields is probably even faster than Bails' but the boxscore indicates he hasn't impacted much...yet.
Tomorrow is a new day.

I would not be at ALL surprised if the Bentley's sandbagged a little today...5games in 5 nights to win the whole thing is impossible...saving energy in a meaningless RR game is not a terrible ply...plus, I thin I would rather play Bfd than Kenora tomorrow...especially if Leggatt is gone.

It's not in The Army's heart to "sandbag".
They mixed up the line-up tonight & this will ensure a few fresh legs tomorrow.
