The Army will open camp on September 4rth.
Team Captain, Sean Robertson, is retiring after 7 great seasons.
The Bentley Generals will look a little bit different when they drop the puck on the new season.

Any rumors what kind of players Rosetown has been able to recruit for their AAA run?

I've been getting a few tidbits from management in Rosetown. They expect to have former Edmonton Oil King, Torrie Jung, as a goaltender and Ryan Menei on "D" this year. Looks like the 'Wings won't be giving up any ground in their quest for the Allan Cup.

If BC sends a SR AAA rep at all this year, it doesn't appear it will be coming from Powell River or Fort St John.
Both those teams are hoping to compete for the BC SR AA Coy Cup this winter.

I feel that Hockey BC will find a BC team to compete in in the Allan Cup play-downs.

Miffer,
I have to confess to being a little behind the 8 ball on this one...I should've already been digging to find out for sure whether or not the Fort Nelson Yeti could be "that" team to fill the SR AAA vacancy.
What I do know: The Yeti are...yet again...being denied entry into the NPHL.
So, would that hurt or help their viability as a BC AAA club?
I'll ask around and see what I can find out.
Personally...I feel if BC doesn't already have something solid in place...then out of fairness to the Alberta side...the Mac Cup should get parked for (at least) a year until proper deadlines are met etc etc

I know the Yeti have the know how and the money to go AAA. Getting players for this level will not be a problem for them but they would need to get a few games against AAA teams to get prepared. BC and Alberta have an agreement in place to play this series, so I'm sure that Hockey BC will make every effort to make this happen. I am not sure on this but the Yeti just may be hosting the the BC AA Championship so they would have to have two teams in their organization.

It's BC's turn to HOST the McKenzie Cup.
That comes with a hefty $$$ commitment and I don't know of any teams other than Fort Nelson who could/would be prepared to take it on this year.
But...
If Fort Nelson Yeti are already scoping the Coy Cup...Id think that's the limit on what they can afford. I'd also think running a "AA" and a "AAA" team under the same team name would be a bit of a farce but we've seen BC get away with it in the past.

Should add: The deadline is October 15th.

I think august 15th is the deadline for AAA in saskatchewan. I have heard shellbrook is out. Lloyd is out of the SWHL league not sure if they are going back to chinook league. So it could leave Rosetown as the only AAA team

So it could leave Rosetown as the only AAA team I'm sure it's August 15th for AAA as per Hockey Canada and I'm sure after what BC sent to Bentley last year by with un registered players they will be given zero room to move off that date as should be the case. Still can't believe in 2014 we accept a team that has to play no games to represent their province it's a frigging farce almost as bad as having 2 teams with the AA team only registered too give the AAA team extra cards. Let's add credibility no reduce it. Let's watch I'm sure a team from the East will show up and challenge for the Cup what a farce if they do and have to win anything ing to get there. If they are giving out free passes then give the defending Champions a free pass ( self serving comment with merit )' . Don Robertson

Rosetown is the lone Sask entry.

My math isn't Stephen Hawking level...but...I'm counting only 5 SR AAA teams when I look at a map of the west coast + prairies.
I guess my next question would be: What's the point of even having an Allan Cup this year?

Wade, it was bound to happen at some point. The playing field has changed drastically over the last 4-5 years and some teams can no longer compete. Somewhat surprised Sask only has Rosetown competing, compared to a couple of years ago when you have four solid teams. I heard Lloyd is going to be playing out of the Battle River Hockey League this year, any truth?

Everything that happened in Bentley last year was sanctioned by HockeyBC and Hockey Canada. So any beefs should be directed to them.
