Newfoundland doesn't have any "declaration" criteria or deadline(s).
They declare one SR AAA team per season. They declare that team to be determined by their previous seasons' Herder Cup Championship.
That team is GFW Cataracts. There's your ONLY SR AAA team in all of Newfoundland.
Like I said before...unless some other Provincial Branch declares from another Maritime province...the extra spot will need to be deferred in some sort of semi-sensible manner.
The only thing I can think of is to give it to the next closest branch...as that's what's always been done. The only difference is...in the past...the nearest branch also happened to be in the same region as the HOST team/province.

ACH and HNO play off pretty much every year OTHER than when ON host. However, they HAVE to do something, as there may be no Atlantic or Quebec rep next year...that would mean, likely, 2 NL, 2 ON and AB/BC and MB/SK

Brantford Blast are advertising on their Facebook page that early bird season ticket sales for the upcoming season will be staring June 8th & running until July 11th. Looks like they will be back!

They submit a roster at the deadline like everyone else. You can check the NL hockey form for the past 3 years they have submitted and stuck to a roster. There will only be two teams interested in playing in the Allan Cup from Newfoudland this season. does anyone actually believe that the NL teams declare their rosters like any other team? ?

Well sometimes the most surprising things happen when the AC is local. All sorts of rats crawl out of the woodwork because it's convenient. For many players a once in a lifetime chance to play in the biggest show of their lives and being local, costs are virtually covered by the hosting team.Just sayin'

I think it's setting up to be an Allan Cup tournament where the HOST region will carry an extremely heavy favourite status.
I think it will end up being one of The Army's all time toughest challenges to build a team that could overcome these kind of odds.

Would one sense by that statement that the "Army" has no worries about being Provincial and if need be Pacific Champion then?? There is a season to play yet, just in case we skip past that little part.

Actually, The Army was a bit wanton with the way things went throughout last regular season & they'd like to install some improvements to next years line-up. I believe they're absolutely "concerned" about qualifying for the tournament & that process continues to be a BIG challenge for the Gens.

Some good news from the "Allan Cup Hockey" league of Ontario, home of the 2014 Canadian Allan Cup Champions, the Dundas Real McCoys. According to an article now posted on the Whitby Dunlops website, the Dunnies confirm they will be returning for the upcomming 2014-2015 season. They have added some new vigor within their organization which hopefully will result in well deserved strong local support of what has always been one of the premier outfits to play in Southern Ontario 'AAA'. The announcement also states that there will once again be six teams in the league, (which I presume to mean that all six teams from last season will be returning). www.whitbydunlops.comHats off to all the hard working dedicated folks within each organization.

Could be more good news in the next few weeks...I think there is a decent chance Quebec will register some semblance of a 2015 Allan Cup interest.

I am half hoping Quebec sends a team from out of the LNAH. That would really put some piss & vinegar back into a tournament which has become rather pedestrian in the past few years.

Allan Cup tournament all-star, Chris Hulit, has signed with a different team in Newfoundlands' NLSHL. Of course, this doesn't mean we won't see him suit up with Clarenville in April. It just means Clarenville has opened up a vacancy on their 28 man roster until then. The Bous' have actually already filled that spot with Stuart Macrae. ?

Hulit was very impressive in Dundas...he would be hard to replace...looks he he got a better offer?
