Great job! That takes a bit of effort and research to compile it all!
One note - the North Peace link is going to the North Central page. Otherwise, bang-up job!

5 games down, both Eagles teams are 4-1, while the Cremona Coyotes are 0-5.
Tonights showdown is between Innisfail visiting Cremona.
The Coyotes recently secured a deal to play out of Cremona, where they have been practicing for the past few months.
Their "home opener" was played the other weekend and they were handed an L against Stony Plain, however, they remained competitive in the 1st & 3rd period, but the 2nd period got away from them. It seems like they have organizational issues, with player commitment, coaching, and disorganization in general. It's a shame, they have some good players, it's just finding the right pieces to bring it all together.
Innisfail picked up former NHL goaltender Matt Climie last month, who's been a stud between the pipes. It doesn't look like they've missed a beat without their mainstay coach, Brian Sutter, who remains with the team in some capacity but stepped aside fully from coaching. This has resulted in GM and former Assistant Coach, Ryan Dodds, stepping into the full-time coaching roll. He's done well to guide the ship.
Stony Plain seems to be an interesting case, as they have some top-tier talent, sprinkled amongst some lesser-known names. It's interesting to see what they bring to the rink each night. Moving forward, I can only imagine they bolster their roster come the January deadline. They aren't set to play again until Jan 7 when they host Cremona.
All in all, it's been a good restart to the Chinook League and hopefully, with talks of adding more teams next season, we see things continue to progress. The league has a long history in Alberta and Canadian Senior hockey in general.

Great start for Senior ACH league last night. New Wentworth team defeated Dundas 5-3. Arena was jammed. More fans than we’ve seen at a Senior game in Ontario in years. Very professional. They have a bar setup that you can watch from. Or take your wine/beer to the stands. Hockey was great. Highly competitive. I think there were over 20 penalties. Rouging etc. Looks like Senior AAA is finally coming back. Love it! Great to hear Would love to see pics/video

Looks like lokol was spot on with the news. Coyotes will be registered as AAA in alberta. Will be allowed to affiliate AA players, however won’t be eligible for an Allan cup or Mackenzie cup. Just provincials it sounds like. But that could change lol Man has HA really gone against their own bylaws the past two years. Oh yeah, lots of kinks and kwirks being ironed out I’m sure. Will be interesting, hearing rumblings of some more teams joining the fray next season. Including a close to Calgary option.

Carstairs Coyotes, now the Coyotes Hockey Club as they were unable to secure the ice times needed in Carstairs, have been granted AAA status. It’s been a tough start for them so far, as it’s their first venture into the Chinook and stacking up against a good Innisfail and Stony squad is a bit of an eye opener for them I’m sure. Hopefully they can bring in some more guys and learn from the other two teams what it will take to be competitive. They are in fact a AA team. They have plans to go AAA next year. Unfeotuanlty HA bylaws state you have to play a year in a lower division before you can go AAA status. So to a degree you are correct, however from my understanding they have been given a spot in AA provs whenever they announce a host location. AA this year and AAA next year. The Chinook league is designed to be a AA and AAA league, just like in the old days. That was the original plan from my knowledge as well, however, it appears they no longer have the offer for the AA provincials and can affiliate AA carded players. Then again, senior is all a mess everywhere and it could change tomorrow! Haha

I want to say it was Powell River making a run again at BC AAA.
Not positive but that rings a bell.
Still no team from the Kelowna area either, I’m quite surprised that them and the Van area have never shown interest with their population for players and money in the area.

To me, there’s not enough players interested in investing the time it takes to have a solid AAA team. Not so much from the teams side of things.
But you’ve got practices, multiple games on the weekends, long drives for the centres that do have AAA teams (think Rosetown a few years back).
It just becomes too much for the players to do who have to work the next day. Factor in them being at a different stage of life from when hockey was their only focus, they’ve got kids, spouses, full time jobs that needs to keep the household lights on.
It’s tough, but I think because of the lull we’ve seen the past 5-10 years in the AAA world, it’s kind of missed a whole generation in the sense of them being excited to play that level.
That being said, I don’t think it’s dead, and if it can get marketed right and scale down the weekend nights required, possibly by lengthening the season by a few weeks to accommodate for one game a weekend, more players would be open to it.

There is an Invermere (3ish hours from Calgary) senior team page on Facebook and has already begun recruiting players and sponsors. So I wouldn’t count them out. Carstairs has done the same online with player announcements, etc. Will be exciting to see CHL back. Invermere looks like a no go as someone involved with the team posted that the CHL was a go but without them about two months ago (July 10th) citing travel distance. Can confirm, the Invermere team was not accepted into the Ranchland league, citing travel distances for the AA league and they have opted not to join the AAA circuit.

Looks like the Chinook is a go with Innisfail, Stony Plain and Carstairs jumping in. Rumours are a few Ranchland teams are looking at joining as well. We’ll have to see how everyone declares and scheduling. But it will be nice to see the rebirth of a storied league back in western Canada.

Who was the highest NHL Drafted player to play Allan Cup hockey? I have my guess. I’m going to go with Johnathan Aitken - 8th overall to Boston in 1996 Played in the Chinook/Allan Cup West league with Fort Sask and most recently with Innisfail in the Ranchland. www.eliteprospects.com/player/31008/johnathan-aitken

Well, it’s summer and usually we start to chat about this.
So who’s got any lines on what’s happening next season?
There’s been meetings about reviving the Chinook league out west, with the two Eagles, Carstairs, Brooks and a team from the Interior BC.
That’s all the AAA news I’ve got going on.
AA need, the Ranchland debacle seems to be dragging on, nothing new other than what’s been previously mentioned. But it'll be interesting to see what happens.
