I hope they get it. Like the way Dundas and Hamilton are teaming up to do this. Went to games when Brantford hosted it and more recently when Dundas hosted it. Throughly enjoyed myself at them.

Interesting thought, if the 2 teams co-host the event, who gets in as the host, will it be both or neither or whoever finishes higher in the standings.

I think a cool part of it if they co hosted it could be that both games each day could be at 7 PM one at each rink, it would take twice the volunteers but at least the low attendance afternoon games would turn into higher attendance night games.

Thinking both will get automatic entry as there wont likely be a Northern Ontario team now that Kenora has folded. Itwo years ago, when the Cup was in Dundas, Kenora had an entry, while Brantford and Dundas both were in the tourny. Doug may know better but my guess is: 1. Host Dundas 2. Host Hamilton 3. ACH champ 4. East rep 5. BC-Alberta champ 6. Sask-Manitoba champ As always if Quebec declares, then it throws everything above out the window.

Id rather see no tournament at all than see whatever mockery a double-host format would make.

Don't worry Wade one day soon you might get your wish. It's not my "wish". Not at all. On the contrary, really. The Allan Cup needed a lot of improvements and they needed to be made quite awhile ago already. It never happened...and now...it's being reduced to a virtually unsalvageable wreckage.

So is it better to salvage the tournament next year with a double host, If you don't hold the Allan Cup for a year it might not return.

I've yet to see anyone even attempt to explain this "double host" format. Seems preposterous to attempt. Then again...preposterous has been done. Many times, around here.

Firstly an event that really needs more than 2 years to prepare for and by the time it's awarded it will be about 1/2 that time, hence if you have 2 Centres labour 15 minutes apart it makes sense cause it cuts the work load in almost half and teams can stay in Hotels in downtown Hamilton the same place they did in 2014. The challenge in 2014 was afternoon games which would now not exist. More on all this later. Cheers Don Robertson

I can see Kenora and T Bay back in the fold. I guess they would play the ACH champ to advance unless Hamiton or Dundas won the league. If that was the case the HNO winner would advance to the Allan Cup with no Renwick. Hockey Canada still has to award the 2017 Allan Cup to a host so it's not even decided. A double host is very stupid. But Hockey Canada doesn't care if it's stupid or not. Just saying.

They're actually a remarkably well run/well disguised billion dollar monopoly. Thing is...they don't actually "govern" SR AAA hockey. Not stupid...just careless...in regards to Allan Cup. And let's be honest...Donny Robertson is the most influential force in SR AAA across Canada. His Dundas' teams have already hosted multiple tournaments not to mention other teams he's been involved with over the years. I don't see how it's competitive or fair for Ontatio to be "double hosting"...certainly not for 2017. But I can easily envision how it might happen. Considering whose pitched the "offer".

Well then Wade maybe the Vaunted Generals should ask for a shot.

Well then Wade maybe the Vaunted Generals should ask for a shot. Maybe they already have? Nobody can disagree The Army put on an all time highest standard tournament in 2013. I'm not sure that's duplicatable in 2017...but...its certainly enough to warrant that they be given serious consideration...should they submit interest. Not to mention the fact it's Albertas' turn to host AC before its ACH's turn.
