Don - thanks for the reply. I certainly don't expect a team to remain totally intact all season and welcome a "few" reinforcements later on. When it's a complete roster makeover then it's an issue. Your team in particular is most known for this and the team ices short lineups until later in the season.
I know first hand from a former player of yours (with a solid playing background beyond this level) that it's not a great team morale boost to know their role will be diminished/eliminated once the annual return of veterans occurs. No doubt this affects your ability to recruit new players who can play at this level.
Consider this - without fans you don't have a team, league, etc so you should have more consideration for them. Other teams are competitive without significant in season roster turnover so it can be done! Maybe if player's don't need to show up until the stretch run us fans shouldn't either!

good conversation
Sniper, it's my opinion that a players role would be "diminished/eliminated" if hes not playing well, or "as well" as another carded option. There is no doubt the correct roster moves were made late last season to give Dundas the best chance of winning. Is it unfortunate that some committed players didn't get to dress for games during the allan cup? certainly, but you have to understand this isn't house league hockey. In senior AAA, you want to put the highest quality squad on the ice, and that, Dundas did, it was really outstanding what Don was able to do, and give the players a lot of credit to, they all came together in a short period of time and performed.
Did Dundas lose a couple "committed" players because they didn't dress or were released during the season? It's very possible, I don't have those answers, but I can tell you the bulk of those players were not "young". The top "young committed" player is back (Stafford), thats what I can tell you.
As a fan, the team that played last season, was very entertaining to watch, it was an absolute treat to see the likes of Foreman, Delueew, Stayzer, Mole, Stewart, Ward, ect. Once these players were signed, they were very committed.
I bet you Don would be the first to tell you, he would have loved to see Worosz, Stafford, White, get in a game in the allan cup, but it is , what it is, the right choices were made.

Glad to hear Stafford named as an assistant captain. Not a Dundas fan but I do like Stafford.

Rumour has it Kenora has 5 signed ex NHLers for this upcomng Renwick Cup. Can anyone confirm? I have heard Ryan Parent's name and Tyer Arnason's name mentioned. They both are 2 hours away from Kenora. It won't surpise me as they are both still young 27 and 35 and Kenora is gearing up to set up a 3 peat as they host the Cup in 2017. Nigel Dawes's name has also come up but I think he's still in the KHL.
You can bet for sure those 2 guys mentioned have connections that will follow them to Kenora if they have not done already. Look out ACH.

I think a lot of people feel the same way as I do, Kenora should not be allowed to play for the Allen cup. They are a throw together tournament team To be eligible a team should have to play at least 20 regular season

That would eliminate. Sask, Man, N Ont, BC and NB. And PEI,Que and NS who don't declare. You might as well add the NFLD team in as well. Your a meathead. Get informed before you post.

I used to hate the fact Kenora continuously got the "low hanging fruit" to qualify for the AC...but...they've been able to consistently outplay southern Ontario's best team(s) despite the fact ACH sends a champion which has played a full Skeddy.
Nowadays...I kinda have to roll my eyes when KENORA defies logic by beating the team who (supposedly) is the more prepared.
Goes to show...heart & hustle...goes a long way.
The Thsitles "get it"
The ACH winners?! Not always.

Twotims, Why do you single out Kenora? Read the earlier post below and please educate yourself before posting. Thanks. PS. ignorance is "not knowing" and you clearly don't know.

Noticed Ryan Watson from Dundas signed with Bakersfield (ECHL) today.
Naitch - looking for some Blast info. Where has Jankus been since game 1? Could he be looking to move to Stoney Creek given that's his hometown as well as the others who departed. I noticed Dietrich was wearing an "A" recently could he be a replacement? Also, is Pottruff suiting up in the New Year? If both these players aren't back will they be replaced?
