Because the team coming out of the ACH has at least battled in a season schedule and won 2 hard fought playoff series. What has Kenora done? Nothing...they sit there waiting. Does it not make sense that the Thunder or Red Wings who play only a best out of 5 series should have to play Kenora? If a team plays in a league, they should get some sort of deserved respect vs challenge teams who declare AAA when it makes sense or is convenient. The teams who do not play in a league should have some sort of round robin play down. I know this has been mentioned on this board before. I know, respect and understand that this nation is vast and geographically challenged but Senior AAA hockey needs to restore some semblance of credibility sooner rather than later. This years edition of the Allan and what is happening out East is brutal.

The reason that won't happen is money. A round Robin tourney for those teams would cost way to much and no one would enter. Having a team play together all year and be battled tested should be an advantage not a disadvantage

Having a team play together all year and be battled tested should be an advantage not a disadvantage Hmmm...how much do you think a 24 game schedule + 2 best of 7 playoff series + an Inter-Branch series costs? Answer: Less than the proposed round robin tournament. Much, much less.

Maybe if you had better teams you wouldn't be so worried about kenora.

Don't play in a league then and just go AAA. You guys complain about the same stuff for years but never do anything about it. Besides complain

Don't play in a league then and just go AAA. You guys complain about the same stuff for years but never do anything about it. Besides complain Hockey Alberta requires its SR. AAA registrants to participate in an accredited league. Ontario has a similar criteria: SR AAA teams must play in ACH. If it were up to me...I would adjust the Chinook League regular season schedule to a 10-12 game season. Open weekends could be used as exhibition game opportunities pending team to team discretion.

I'll add: These last 2 operating SR AAA leagues are the ONLY THING generating any kind of pulse for SR AAA hockey between October-March.
Think about that.

Why don't you guys in Alberta and ontario get that changed so you can play whatever league/schedule you want I like your last schedule idea, I'd think most teams would prefer that type of schedule

Why don't you guys in Alberta and ontario get that changed so you can play whatever league/schedule you want I like your last schedule idea, I'd think most teams would prefer that type of schedule Well...out here...we like hockey. So...we do a little thing called...hockey games. It's a real treat. We get two teams and pit them against one another in a contest of hockey playing. At the end...one team loses and the other team wins. People get real excited. You should check it out sometime. Seriously....playing LESS games isn't helping SR AAA hockey. The teams who aren't playing games are the ones who should be looking into solutions. And I have asked the Generals about playing a smaller regular season skeddy...the answer was rather predictable: They have trouble finding feasible exhibition games against quality opponents. CIS teams are already near-full with their league commitments & academic requirements. So...there are really only other SR teams to play...and for Bentley...Rosetown is the only team in all of Western Canada who can fudge together a competitive line up...and even then...its a stretch to get a quality game. And almost a guarantee dent in the pocket book. So...CHL teams are probably wise to not try and re-invent the wheel. I actually like the idea of the WildCard system. Given that Rosetown, Kenora & SEPT are all in the same boat...it seems common sensical to play against one another...in official games. They're already playing exy's against each other...why not just up the anti?

What happens in NFLD, every year, is a travesty...what they just did is simply an embarrassment to Sr Hockey.
Filane and co turning a blind eye to this are jackasses.
