Just thinking outside the box here, but is there any reason why AAA senior hockey in Canada has to be under the umbrella of hockey canada? We all know hockey Canada could care less about senior AAA, so why not maybe branch off and create new organization with the ability to market it and get sponsors as they see fit? Ontario already has a senior league like that that's not affiliated with Hockey Canada, it has 13 teams all of which are in small south western Ontario towns. Right now this league competes with the ACHL for players. But in reality they arent better off in the sponsorship world then the teams under Hockey Canadas umbrella.

Wade seems to be offly quiet lately, could it be because the Gens have lost 2 straight games both with 1-0 scores Those were both wins up until I checked the website today. I'm looking into it. I suspect either a website glitch...or...discipline from the league for a roster/registration issue. I thought that was weird i couldn't see the Gens losing 1-0 to the bottom 2 teams in the league. Took another look and CHL shows it as forfeited points due to ineligle player.

Interesting side point for this upcoming Game Dan Lapointe and Jordan Foreman are both eligle to play in Brantford Friday night after serving 8 and 6 game suspensions. Lapoints 8 game suspension came last time these 2 teams played and he entered the stands to engage a fan. Foreman returns after 6 games for an Atempt to injure penalty in a loss to Whitby.

Andrew what's the blast doing with the player release's they wiĺ be out of playoff's very quick haha Well technically all 6 teams make it to the playoff portion of the achl this year all be it the 5th and 6th place teams and have to qualify to get into the top 4 teams, The blast are currently 21 points ahead of 5th with 7 games to go and 10 points up on 4th so I highly doubt they are going to drop out of the playoffs. They actually have the easiest schedule of any team left with only 1 remaining game against Whitby and 6 games against teams below them in the standings. As for the releases they were all bottom line guys that ate up minutes for the Blast when regulars were away, minus Marcoux who is injured and Spurr who hasn't played a game for the blast the past 2 seasons. All it does is open up roster spots to sign higher end talent.

I think a cool part of it if they co hosted it could be that both games each day could be at 7 PM one at each rink, it would take twice the volunteers but at least the low attendance afternoon games would turn into higher attendance night games.

Interesting thought, if the 2 teams co-host the event, who gets in as the host, will it be both or neither or whoever finishes higher in the standings.

I stand corrected then about dundas I apologize. I've just never noticed someone with a beer in there hand around me but maybe since I'm at the end behind the net I'm sitting in the family section.

funny part about it though is if the far blues are the alcohol free sections the current drinkers will need to find a new section to sit in.

Pretty easy there is only about 50 people that sit in that end of the rink all you need is one person walking the section making sure no one sits there with a beer. Same as Dundas being allowed to have beer behind the rail in the standing room area but not in the stands.

Well, the Blast will be starting beer sales at their games beginning Jan 22nd. Scary part is we're playing Dundas that night This is the best post I've seen on here all season. Dundas has sold beer for years. Does not mean trouble. Will help with revenue and Blast bottom line. From what I heard Friday night at the game you'll be able to drink right in your seat during the game. except for the blue seats at the zamboni end.

That's been the rumour all the way back to last year when Peter Ham wasn't there for the last half of last season due to health issues. With the amount of work the team has put into getting more sponsors and the new jerseys for the second half of the season I doubt the plan is to just close up shop. If Peter were to ever stop being involved in the team I bet he would at least try to sell the team to another party.

So he received the minimum suspension as he was given a GRM60 - Travesty of the game which is 2 games and a GRM62 - removing helmet/chinstrap which is 1 game.
