Question Wade, if a player is from Newfoundland and played Junior A in another province and returns after there jr. career is over, are they considered one of the branch to branch transers? Yes. This Player was carded last season in another branch. He will need an Inter-Branch Transfer & becomes an Import Player for the season in which the "IBT" was provided.

It's easy to figure out what players are Imports.
eliteprospects.com recognize Hockey Canada & IIHF transfers. All you have to do is name search the player & find where he was carded last season.

well, the 2 Nfld. teams have payed zero HC games so far this year...their league plays outside any HC regulations, so there will be no suspensions. fnes, etc.
Also, what the Nfld federation defines as an 'import' is different than what HC define as imports. I am sure the Nfld teams will have found a way to magically become 'compliant' before the first puck drops next Monday. Still ZERO enforcement by HC on both teams raiding their own league to produce all-star teams for the tournament.

It's beginning to look like maybe...just maybe...the LNAH players are going to be ineligible.
I think...teams going to Clarenville must ensure they're vigilant on their own rosters as well as BOTH NFLD teams.
Really no reason to feel comfortable with what's gone on so far...

Lionsden I can now see where you are coming from , tell it like it is , don`t bull shit around it You guys have 5 imports and 4 pick up from other teams Also you have a healthy team whereas Clarenville has 2 injured 4 that can`t play because of work or family reasons , 2 of them work offshore .Also I can say that there are 2 players that may not play because on old injuries ... As you know we played the finals with only one goalie dressed ...If the bous could not pick up players they perhaps would not have a team to play

Ron, you might be confused...do you mean the New Brunswick team?
and boohoo...poor Clarenville...1/3 of their roster last year was made up of guys they pilfered from their own league. Sucks to almost have to play by the rules everyone else does, doesn't it?
AFFILIATE players are not all-stars from the same league YOU play in.

Well boys after this year you can have your Allan Cup and stick it where the sun don`t shine . There will not be a team from Newfoundland playing in the Allan Cup for a long time if in fact they ever do again . Only for Clarenville there would not have been a team playing there the last few years and if the games were not played in NL there would not have been a team there this year .. you can take that to the bank .. The Grand Falls cataracts won the Herder this season therefor they can play in the Allan Cup next year but mark this down you will not see them ..That I can say is the facts .. So like I said stick it

Why do you think that a team from the Atlantic (NL)is playing in the Allan Cup . Well they were invited to play because the Allan Cup is losing fans and teams. With the draft that is in place in NL a team cannot stack its lineup to build up for the Allan cup run like other teams ..We have a competitive league here not like the league that Bentley plays in , I think that they may have only loss one or two game all of this season and playoffs , yah nice league they have there ,why do you think that they have a team playing for the Allan cup every year ,they buy a team each year now tell me that they don`t build their team at the start on the season and also can pick up players when ever and also from where ever they can ,, do you guys have a draft in place ? do Bentley have a draft in place , can you go out and sign players anywhere at any time . No team in NL can do that This is one of the reasons that you will not see another team from NL at the Allan cup again and only for Clarenville hosting this year they would not have been there last year or this year and you can forget about the Cataracts , this is the last you will hear of them ...Any way I am looking for some good hockey and I hope my team wins but it will be hard playing against stacked teams with players from another country
