Let's call a spade a spade - there's a lot going on behind closed doors that even the most informative people in the senior loop, yourself included jimc, don't know about. There's not a chance there isn't an additional incentive to play senior hockey on the weekend, at least for some. I know a recent player on one of those teams, a real 3rd or 4th line mucker, and let's just say he wasn't just playing for some pizza and pop on the weekend. It goes on everywhere, the NL teams are just a little less coy about it.

It's just that simple. No realistic person is "donating" cash to players to play hockey. Expense coverages? Yes. That's legal. It's upfront and it's a must. Envelopes of $$$? Nope.

Wade. Agree with many things you say. Likely disagree with more of what you say. In the end you know Senior hockey.
But on the topic of $$, sorry but you're out to lunch. Jimc will tell you some stories.
As an insider with friends who have played in the MLH and ACH, I know first hand of back room deals.
Of course there are. For example, if Brantford gets 1000 fans for some games at $12 a pop....lets just say some players get more than the $20 you think they get.

So, people do understand that generally speaking, Dundas and Bentley do not pay players...the NL teams fly guys in and pay up to a grand a week...so.....suck it.

Here in the NESHL (New Brunswick) some teams have a 4000$+ per game payroll. Tracadie and Lameque pay big bucks to some of their top players. Lameque pays their top goon James Scott 600$ per game. Its ridiculous he plays an average of 1 minute a game cause he's ejected after fighting. Tracadie has the biggest payroll they pay a lot of players 300$ and 400$ a game and operate a budget of close to 200 000$. Tickets are 10$ and the rinks are not full not even in the playoffs in some places.

A few of them were prominent players on excellent teams...RUMOURED...to be paying big bucks. This is the oldest conversation in SR hockey & I used to spend a lot of time on it. Nowadays...I realize I'm just wasting time on it. Let people believe what they want and let the teams who pay...do so...if that's what they think will accomplish their goals. There are SO MANY smarter things to do with what little $$$ a team can get their hands on than paying players $/games.

If Stephanishion can't make your 4th line, your coach has lost his marbles

I am not saying some stars may not have been compensated to play on any of the entries to this years' dance. I just had tio laugh at folks representing a league that pays pretty much ALL its players

There's no question that NL pays all its players. That's well-known. It is submitted on their tax returns, so no one is trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes. I just had to laugh when you say that "generally" Bentley and Dundas don't pay their players. You can't suck and blow at the same time, it happens everywhere.

Matt Stefanishion is not fighting for a spot on the fourth line. His spot is secure on the second unit playing the wing with Andrew Sweetland and Matt Bragg.

Please don't Group the Cataracts with the Caribous...We are bringing a team that is strictly CWSHL players....the only two imports who are going to be on the roster played with us all season...Cam Fergus and Collin Circelli plus Rob Hennigar who was a member of the Cataracts last season.... Luke Gallant has been living in Newfoundland for the past 3 yrs...so I don't count him as an import (HNL guidelines).
I really thought that the Caribous would have played with atleast 70% of there roster..but it does not look that way....I haven't seen there roster so I am only speculating. The Cataracts roster will be released soon. Can we now group you with Clarenville .i guess that a different time and year can change a few things
